Default Tickets: does this make sense to you?

Found out a friend is going night 2 - Met Life stadium. She bought section 212 row 12 at presale for $155 + fees each. I bought tix 2 nights ago to the same concert, floor 16 row 1 for the same price she paid.

I asked her why didn't she get floor tix and she said they weren't offered so she took the best seats ticketmaster found for her.

How is it that she couldn't get floor seats but I found them 2 nights ago? I would never pay that amount for 200 section, I know it's sideline and closer to the stage but still. Just how many floor seats are offered at presale??

It depends on the show regarding floor tickets during the presale. I remember being able to get decent floors for Soldier Field during the presale. The tickets you got probably dropped, which happens a lot.

As for the quality, not to insult you but the view from 212 will probably be not too different from section 16. I've sat in the back of the floor at stadiums before and it was like being in the upper deck. Being row 1 is nice as no one will be in front of you, but it's not like those floors are close. I'm picky with my seats, though.

does anything make sense in the ticketworld,no .. you can often get terrific seats the final few days up to a show,so often its not worth buying 1st few days of onsale and in presales the tickets can be rubbish .. when selling tickets for any kind of event you would have thought they would sell/offer the nearest stage first and then work back,ie first come first served, but in this day of multiple seller sites, each with their own allocation plus tickets it seems being issued at random by computer there's no way this can happen .. i suppose it's all down to luck in the end

I agree with you, I've been on the floor and side and sometimes the side is better. I'm just surprised for a presale the best she could get was section 200s, not even 100s, very surprised by that. I guess presale isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I'm trying to figure this out myself. For the show here in Winnipeg each of the 7 ticket price levels have gone at one time or another from "no tickets available" to "limited tickets" to being able to buy groups of tickets in that level then back to "no ticket" and "limited tickets" again etc. etc. It's been doing this for months and there's still 2 months until the show. (and often these new seats showing up are in better locations that what were offered in the pre-sale and first day of general on sale) I can see new tickets showing up when unsold VIP packages are dropped or days before the show when extra seats are able to fit around the stage but this is not the case here.

I know that sometimes the show the not so good seats first if you don't look for specific sections as they know that the good seats will sell fast enough anyways. Happened to me a few times in the past.
