I think the "hi-tech system failures" were the credit card parking systems.

We got there and they asked to see our reference number and/or email confirmation for parking. We just said that all we were told we'd need was the credit card we purchased the permit with - nothing else. The guy responded by asking if we had any written or printed material with us at all to prove that we'd pre-booked a parking space and I started to think we were heading for a stand-off as we literally had nothing but my debit card as proof. He then waved us through and said,

"Sorry, the credit card system check is down."

So all it would have taken is for somebody who'd pre-booked parking to get on their mobile and let their mates who were getting the train or bus over know that they could in fact bring their car, and there'd have been mayhem. The staff had no means of checking the validity of any claims so couldn't really turn anybody away. It was ridiculous.

Also, what was going on with all the mic popping during MAM? Was somebody accidentally knocking a mic or was it a bad lead/connection? Whatever it was, Hugh looked p**sed off and started ranting at somebody backstage to no doubt find the problem and fix it!

Yeah but in the 80's they were "in" so they had some good reviews. By the 90's they were "out" and it seemed the reviews have sucked since then.

Typical review highlighting the hair

I wish the press would wake up to this band and realise how good they are

Kathleen (who is getting tired of the stereotyping)
stop looking for stereotypical views and sexism, and maybe you'll stop finding them.

Not likely since they are everywhere.

I doubt they thought they were being overtly sexist when they wrote the article though.

Its like saying a certain company is racist because they only have white employees working for them - perhaps they are? Or, perhaps the best applicants for the jobs undertaken just happened to be white. I hate it when companies or institutions actually go out of their way to pacify certain groups by employing persons of particular ethnicity just for face value. IMO, that is being MORE racist than not!

But let's not digress cos this discussion belongs under it's own thread...
