Bon Jovi is the only fandom I've ever participated in where the "fans" want to turn everything positive into a negative.

Some of the "fans" on here are fans the same way Mark David Chapman was with John Lennon.

And if I'm honest it was really hard not to sit there afterwards and compare it to what Jon does. But honestly, they are two very different people. I'm more than happy for them to co-exist in the same world and enjoy both acts.
Yes, it's like that old, you can only have 1 best friend crap that goes on at primary school. Why not enjoy and share the love. I will always compare any concert I go to to a Bon Jovi one. I did it with Pink

Yes, agreed 100%.

I know they're both from Jersey and they both stand for a lot of the same things but they express it in different ways. People also need to remember Bruce is over ten years older than Jon - he started in a very different time and has created his own culture, as have Jovi. They are both very highly successful touring groups that BOTH have not had number one hits for years.

Let them be, apples and oranges. There is no denying they've got a lot in common but they also are very different as well.

there are some facts in there that no matter how you interprete them show their popularity...
1.france is the exception, the rest of the world is the rule...metallica are a huge band, but touring wise bj are consistently selling more tickets the last 15 years...they only play arenas in north america, they participate in many festivals with strong opening acts rather than being alone on the bill, the charge less...metallica are great, i really like them but touring wise bj are bigger ticket draws...
2. springsteen average tickets seem to be in the same range with bj...he doesnt have the ridiculous packages but he charges a high ticket without gurantee where you will end up. anyway i m tired with all the springsteen comparisons...
3.if we could add all the tickets and the revenues from 2000-2013 i m pretty confident that the rank would be sth like that...
1.u2,2.bon jovi,3.rolling stones,4.madonna,5.ac dc(or springsteen)
of course bj have 1-2 more tours, but the tickets were sold, people kept coming back and i m sure if the stones or u2 toured every 2 years the tickets sales would be slower as well...

Metallica are still a huge draw in Europe but if people think Jovi are living on past glories then look at Metallica. Nothing good at all since 1991.

Actually, we do have official figures and the rank is in fact as follows:

1. U2
2. Madonna
3. Springsteen
4. Rolling Stones
5. Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi will surpass the Stones by the end of this tour. Maybe they'll be able to outgross Bruce as well but this is going to be a close run.

Average Attendance: 23,753
Average Ticket: $74

This is the latest ranking, as far as Billboard Boxscore goes. Every show has been reported to Billboard for U2, the Rolling Stones and Madonna. Billboard has put together a ranking for the decade 2000-2009, so all we need to do is add the figures from 2010 to date for these artists (http://www.billboard.com/articles/ne...-of-the-decade ). As for Bruce, the Seeger Sessions Tour has never been reported and was not included in the Billboard ranking. That would be another $45 million in gross and 500,000 in attendance. Obviously, data for Bon Jovi is incomplete on this list. A few years back, however, Billboard has published the totals from all Bon Jovi tours since 2000 for the purpose of their Bon Jovi cover story.
