Only Europe

2006 - Bon Jovi sold over 750 000 Tickets
2008 - Bon Jovi sold over 1 000 000 Tickets
2011 - Bon Jovi sold over 930 000 Tickets

Means...more more than 2 700 000 Tickets sold....this is huge

sure...U2 are bigger...Robbie Williams is bigger...Rolling Stones are bigger

Jon is one of the "Big Boys"...not number one...not number 5...but number 6 or 7...with 2 700 000 tickets sold...this is fine

Madonna play in Munich last year...in front of 30 000 fans...in an empty Olympic Stadium

Rolling Stones play the Commerzbank Stadium in Germany...sold 23 000 Tickets

Muse: Montreal, CAN Bell Centre 15,818 / 16,477 (96%)...Bon Jovi sold Out this place 5 times this tour...every Show sold out with more than 19 000 Tickets

2009 - Bruce plays Olympic Stadium in Munich...sold 40 000 Tickets....Bon jovi Sold out this Stadium 5 times in 10 years...every show sold more than 68 000 tickets

Rolling Stones play many Venues with out sold out.

40 000 tickets in Mannheim is not that big like U2...but great...I don`t have 40 000 Fans in Mannheim

Somebody Is Always bigger...Bon Jovi Are very Big...they were Huge...other Acts are bigger...but...hey...thats ok.

They've also done Stade de France (80.000 people) twice in France where as Bon Jovi struggles to sell out Bercy that holds about 20.000 people. I am well aware of Muse playing in arena's, but that's a choice they make. Whenever they play festivals, they headline, meaning that most tickets sold for the festivals are for Muse. Headlining Roskilde or Rock Werchter is a bigger deal than playing Randers or Zeebrugge.

But Bon Jovi is not a real festival band whereas Muse are perfect for a festival. People who go to festivals hardly go there for only one band in particular. In 2007 they did not headline Rock am Ring and only played at a friday right before Linkin Park (that doesn't say anything about the quality of course)

I think it really depends on the country. In Germany Muse could never sell out stadiums and it would be interesting to see how many tickets they would sell playing the O2 12 times. But I know that they are really big in France (think it was their biggest market outside of the UK from the beginning)

But maybe you are right and Muse really have become THAT big. Haven't really been following them during the last 2 years, 'cause I didn't like their last album.

it would be interesting to know if U2 could still sell as many tickets as they do if they would do as many shows and tours as bj.

Why are you picking out the few cities where Bon Jovi did better than the Rolling Stones, Madonna and Springsteen? Why not mention the rest of Europe where all of them are way more successful than BJ?

I don't know why this keeps coming up. Actually, U2 is touring Latin America, Australia and Europe (with a few exceptions) more frequently than Bon Jovi, because Bon Jovi always skips lots of markets each tour.

U2 had 3 major tours in the last 10 years while bj also had smaller ones in the beginning of that decade, but bj have played around 500 shows while u2 only played around 350. So bj are one tour ahead (sort of) (I know bj skipped SA and some parts of Europe in some tours)

I don't want to start an argument I was just comparing.

In Japan maybe, but certainly not worldwide.
