I didn't realise I was being rude... Then again, I've been sick all week after the tour, with fever and the worst sinus infection and cough I've ever had, so whatever I've written has probably been coloured by the sh*tty way I've felt. I'm already done with the first round of antibiotics, but I'm not sure the infection is all gone yet... We'll see about that in a day or two.

Anyway, I would just like to say that if you thought what I wrote about Jon and the Dublin set list was rude, I wonder then what you've thought about some of the things some of the guys here on this Board have written about Jon... Or is it different for us girls, in your book? Can we not criticise Jon and his decisions without being "rude"? Like I've said before, I don't kiss anyone's ar$e just for the sake of kissing their ar$e. Not even Jon's. If I'm not happy with something Jon has done, like changing the set list the way he did, I'm gonna say it and not pretend everything is just swell and perfect just because it's Jon Bon Jovi we're talking about.

I didn't say it was a bad show. I only said that after seeing the original set list, I wonder what the heck went through Jon's mind when he decided to swap STBI for Misunderstood. Yes, maybe he felt that STBI didn't fit the overall mood of the show... But it's equally possible that he decided to play Misunderstood for some "less important" reason, like the fact that it was a recent single and therefore could go well with the "fair weather fans". We'll never know for sure.

Erm, why couldn't or shouldn't I say something like that? I'm a long-time fan, I was at the show, I paid for my own ticket... In other words, I think I'm entitled to have opinions about the show. Positive ones as well as negative ones. And my personal opinion is that catering for the younger fans and the "fair weather fans" shouldn't overrun classics aimed at the die-hards.

In all honesty, though, I think my entire tour was kinda over-shadowed by my admittedly stupid personal desire to hear Something To Believe In. Ever since I heard that it was played in Munich, I was desperate to hear it at one of the shows I was gonna attend to. So in some ways, I guess I spent all the five British Isles shows waiting to hear that song...and as we all know, the band never played it again after Munich and Kiel. After the HP show, and generally for the first few days after the tour, the strongest feeling I had was disappointment -- you could even say that I felt kinda betrayed. I had hoped so much to hear STBI but the band never played it, not even when they had it on the original set list. It's only in the past few days or so when I've basically started to appreciate the shows I saw, and particularly the special nature of the HP show.

That said, I still can't figure out why Jon would leave out a classic like STBI, especially when it was listed in the original set list itself. I could understand it if it was an audible, but dropping it out mid-show after he full well intended to play it...?! Can't get it, no matter how hard I try.

I know what you are saying about wanting to hear STBI, i wanted to hear it at 1 UK show as well, seen as though Europe it was played 3x before.

So what if Jon dropped it out the set at Dublin, I was there at that show. I didnt know it was in the "original" set until i came and read this. I was pleased with the Dublin show and it was good to see them live again.

Anu, instead of saying all what you say, think of fans who are "die-hard fans" who cant get to Jovi shows, i know you mean well but others are less fortunate.

Yup, it could've been very good indeed...if Jon hadn't gone and swapped Something To Believe In for Misunderstood, etc. I would really like to know what the HELL he was thinking when he ordered that change! I mean, you certainly DON'T get a BETTER show by swapping a classic like Something To Believe In for a new addition like Misunderstood... What on earth was that guy thinking back then??
Anu - Do you have to be so rude and with your comments about Jon?
Anu - you seem to have missed my point again!
I am not disputing the fact that you are die hard fan who wanted to hear STBI. The band had lots of family and freinds in the house in Dublin and maybe they wanted to hear "Misunderstood"?! It's not all about the die hards you know! they have to try to please everyone.
Besides, they feed off the crowd and maybe Jon thought that by doing STBI, he would have lost them a bit? So he decided to do "Misunderstood" to keep the momentum up? He is the expert, he knows how to work a crowd, so who are you to question his actions?
To say "What the HELL was he thinking?" and "What on earth was that guy thinking back then??" - just seemed a bit rude to me, just because he swapped one song for another, big deal!!

I too was a little dissapointed, of course I was, but there were plenty of other highlights and songs during the tour for me not to be upset over something so trivial as not hearing one of my favourite songs in Dublin!
So, tell us what DID YOU enjoy about the tour?

And I do pick up on some of the guys comments sometimes too, beleive me I do! There is nothing wrong with constructive and/or humourous crticism, as long as it is done in a respectful manner.

a lot of people on this board are like me... anoraks and like to collect things from the tour. Anything from flyers, leaflets, promo stuff, adverts for specific concerts, tour reviews or photos from the shows
i thought I was the only one!

Ive got about 4 of those "do you want to go on stage things" from this tour
and from OWN, a flyer, a paper from huddersfield that has like 5 pages on Bon Jovi (god knows how I kept that during the show :E)
