When I saw the 1996 tour I was 13, and it was my second show. I liked the 1995 tour much more, the setlist had a better flow. Though TD is my all time favourite album of any band, throwing nearly the whole album into the set just made the feel of the whole show very slow. That was weird. I was a bit confused back then. Later I realized how great it was, with the mini acoustic set, the amazing setlists and beyond 3h-shows. I would give a lot to travel back in time to see the band in 1996, or even more in 1995. That was their best tour ever I think.
But in deed the Lost Highway Tour is excellent. Just why is the European leg so much better than the US leg? We're enthusiastic when the band pulls out gems like "Dry County", "Hey God" or "This Ain'T A Love Song", but then they just stay for a very few shows. Seems like they are just playing it to please the fans, and not because they really want to. If these songs would stick over a whole tour and pop up here and there I would be much more delighted.
