Wonder who this comment was from...

05/20/2010This is just too silly for words. Giving the article the title "Beyond The Singles" and then having plenty of songs in the list that were singles and big hits for the band, and that were songs that actually were on the greatest hits record. Did the writer of this actually do any research at all apart from just listing her favourite songs? Stick To Your Guns, Dry County, Lie To Me, Little Bit Of Soul, I Believe, Damned, Hey God, Wild Is The Wind, In & Out Of Love, Why Aren't You Dead, Open All Night (box set version), Mystery Train, Good Guys Don't Always Wear White, Edge Of A Broken Heart, Hook Me Up, there's your list of 15 songs every die hard wants to hear live, and there's your list of songs that would actually show the depth of the Bon Jovi catalogue.

Misunderstood
Save The World

Yeah....whatever.

I thought theese were all supposed to be non singles.

Misunderstood, Bed of Roses, Thank You For Loving Me, Keep The Faith, Saturday Night, This Ain't A Love Song are all singles.

There are FAR better Bon Jovi songs to include on the list.

She's A Mystery would have topped charts around the globe.

Yeah, I can't even remember hearing it on the radio.

The last true hit in the UK was It's My Life.

Misunderstood got a lot more play in the US than the charts make it seem. The video (which I think is probably their second best of the decade) was all over VH1. I'm always surprised how many non-fans have brought it up to me over the years actually.

I think her style of writing is pretty ****ing contrived. All "vocals full of desperation and longing" this and "Let's turn up the heat with this rocking song from the 80s" that. Waxing lyrical about all their ballads in a totally uncritical manner, going on about how amazing they are and how Jon sings them so emotionally and how all the post-2000 ballads are NOT, in fact, powerless reheashes. "Completely adorable" she writes, why not just propose to Jon there and then? The writing has more cliches than the Bounce album. Anybody who claims to be a serious music writer should be deeply remorseful for writing this analytically barren, gushing, juvenile heap of crap.
