I don't know what the rest of the crowd was like on Friday as I was in GC and, due to lack of height(!) couldn't tell how full it was. I didn't keep up with all the ticket sales at the time so it could be that Fri sold out really quickly and so adding Sat. made sense but if it didn't would it have been better to have one date that would have made sure that the Euro leg ended with even more of a bang?
Just thought I'd put the question out there to see what people think......
I took a walk into the GA section on Saturday and was surprised at how much space there was - when you looked at the screens during the gig it looked completely full but the reality was that it was only half full, like you said.
On Friday the upper tiers were more or less empty. On Saturday there seemed to be a few more in the middle tiers but it looked as if they'd closed off the upper tiers completely, as not one seat was used. Strange that...

I got chatting to people in the queue outside about this and we all agreed that tickets were just too expensive. Add to that the travel costs, car parking, drinks, food, merchandising and you're looking at a small fortune. So one date would have been preferable. You don't necessarily need a full house for a good show but it does look bad when there are so many gaps in the stadium.

Billboard will release attendance figures and then we'll know at least how many tickets were "sold" that won't really be an indication of how many folks were there however.

Agreed! They do need to do something for Wales and the West! And the Millenium Stadium has a close-able roof - what else do you need for a concert in the British Summertime!

According to the Richmond & Twickenham Times, there were "more than 85,000" people there on the 2 nights, so an average of 42,500 per show - ish? Bearing in mind that many were there for both nights, I think one night would have been enough.

I had upper tier tickets for sat, as I wanted seated cause my 5 year old daughter was with us. But when we got there they asked us to exchange our tickets as upper tier was closed. Which worked out better as we ended up in lower tier much closer to the stage.

I guess what they need is a bigger venue to only do one London...maybe wembley?

saying that, I still thought the atmosphere was good on sat....

What got me at the Ricoh was a number of things about the fans ;

1. I echo the sentiment about walking about and chatting. I was in GC - £75+ for a ticket and couldn't believe the amount of people chatting, going for beer, walking about etc. I thought we were in the middle of a credit crunch!! I couldn't afford to spend £75 on a band that I absolutely didn't love or want to miss a minute of.

2. People sitting down in the seats. WILL NEVER, can never understand why you would want to go to a rock show and sit down. I had to go see Harry Connick Jr last year (for the wife) and can fully understand sitting down at that type of show - but a Bon Jovi stadium show!!!!?????

3. Casual fans just going for a laugh. Further to first point I noticed that Crossroads is back in the top 20 Itunes download chart!!! This must be on the back of the tour, people going to see them and then downloading Crossroads. Again, am amazed that people can afford to go to these big shows without having a tremendous emotional investment.

baffling.

I would love the band to go back to playing arenas - The O2 last year had much more atmosphere than any of the stadium shows - indoor shows do. However it seems that the casual fan demand for Bon Jovi shows is still so high that its financial suicide for the band not to do stadiums.

I would love there to be just one stadium show in London, one in midlands, one in manchester and one in scotland - OR lots of shows but in the arenas.

The other thing that annoys me about the promoters is that they always announce a final show and then go and add another date later - we had all this rubbish with wembley last time. It divides the audience and annoys fans who thought they were buying tickets for the last night of the tour, which is what Twickenham Friday was meant to be this year.

Yeah at the Ricoh we decided to sit at the back of the GC at the barriers, and it was just a constant stream of people coming and going it was ridiculous. It really puts you off getting into it, when you keep having to move out of the way. And those bloody beers sellers get in the sodding way too! (It amused me that only at London did they sell wine? The girl asked us if we wanted wine and we just laughed! Was waiting for someone selling Sherry next! Although why dont they sell water or soft drinks???)

Once Im in thats it, even if I think Im gonna piss myself! Im stocked up on water or coke and Im there for the duration. Even if they played Just bloody older Im still there!

As far as Gold Circle went, I thought Twickers night 2 had a better atmosphere than night 1. Even though there was a smaller crowd on the sat it sounded better from where I was.

Next time i reckon i'd like to see:

Hampden Park
City Of Manchester Stadium
Millennium Stadium
Twickenham

We don't really need a midlands date becaues we're not that far from Cardiff, Manchester or London really.

A huge portion of a typical Bon Jovi audience is a joke, its a disgrace and a shame. I was front of GA on the barriers both nights, crammed into my space and barely able to move, next to some proper Jovi fans who too had queued for several hours... but my view between me and the stage was off the back 3rd of the entire GC mulling around like they were at a cattle market, talking, drinking and taking multiple toliet breaks during Dry County etc. It's so hard to get into the atmosphere when theres this type of crowd infront of you. There were also several drunks slumped right at the back of the GC, and even people sitting down and/or sprawled out on the rails at the back looking like they were taking a napp. Then, as someone else mentioned, i noticed several groups of 'fans' actually leaving BEFORE the encore, i could understand casual fans way up in the stands but these are the people who have forked out money for GC tickets. I had a great view of some of these shmucks loitering around the back of the GC, they looked totally disinterested!

Bon Jovi should dump their label, go independant and then just tour theatres and concert halls up and down the country. And they should also set up an interview process/brain scanner to determine if the 'fan' buying the ticket is worthy of experiancing Bon Jovi Live. Its the only way
