Default U2, Bon Jovi and Phil Collins(17-20 August)

The Turkish soccer club GALATASARAY ISTANBUL will celebrate their 100 birthday with a huge festival. Confirmed guests are U2, Bon Jovi and Phil Collins and other possible acts might be Elton John, Diana Ross and Blue.
This was announced by Galatasary Istanbul theirselves.

Well...Bon Jovi and U2 at the same festival...that's unbelivable.

Hey, I hope I am not very late with my post.

you do realise that Bon jovi will be more than likely *shock horror* lower on the bill than U2? (if its a 1 day thing)
BJ opening for another band? who would have thought it eh.

and wtf is so special about galatasery (sp) anyway?! only time i ever hear about them in the news its for the wrong reasons like their fans have been rioting AGAIN and x ppl have been killed etc

a music festival for some 2nd rate football team with that lineup? i wouldnt be surprised, if its for true, that itl be a charity gig just held at their stadium or something. Jon and the guys prob havnt even herd of them.

The topic says 17-20 August, so maybe a four day festival?

did you ever see a galatsaray home-match on tv? it's 70,000 ppl chanting as if they were 100,000,000 they're huge and they are most probably the most important representor of the turkish sport (after their football national squad)

and why does it bother you how far up bon jovi are on the bill? i totally don't mind- i'm not going to the show anyway you know- imho they should be colleagues more than enemies- it's about music, not about war
and most bon jovi fans are u2 fans and the other way round, anyway...

and for everyone who comments on this post- please no b*tchin' bout whether u2 or bon jovi are bigger

For your personal info Livin_on_my_Hair:
Galatasaray is the biggest Turkish club. They won the UEFA Cup a few years ago beating Arsenal London in the final.I think it was 1999 or 2000. Their coach is Gheorghe Hagi and I’ve seen him on Romanian TV saying this. Then I heard it in the news too. Galatasaray was a few years ago one of the richest clubs in the world. It was even in the Top 5 in 1997. They have enaugh money to hold such a huge festival so why should BJ, U2 or Phil Collins not accept it???I don’t see any reason!
