Exactly! They think and and feel the same way about BJ, I have read it in their boards.

I'm actually looking into seeing them in Spain in September.

The only thing I can think of is that U2 have 360 view, therefore more tickets available to sell, therefore more money. This probably is a mute point though considering U2 are bringing 4 stages costing 28 million each.

Unfortunately I have to agree with Kenobi's post above. It's greed.

On Lost Highway -tour in Finland tickets were 59 to 89 euros if i remember correctly. It's much easier here than for example in USA. There are only three or four different price tickets here.... We haven't even heard anything about those tickets that can cost you nearly 1000 euros. That would never happen here. No one would ever pay several hundreds of euros to see any band here in Finland, no one....
Well maybe someone.
When Madonna was here few years ago doing some arena show, the most expensive tickets were 200 euros and that was something to laugh at here...
Since then there have been no shows with nearly as expensive tickets here in Finland.
The only thing I can tell about the topic is, when I saw Bon Jovi in Barcelona two years ago with the Lost Highway tour, I paid 75€ for a Golden Circle ticket (I finally watched the show in 5th row because in Spain the Backstage members didn't have an "exclusive zone" or something, they just got into the venue half an hour before us), and the "cheap seats" were at about 20€, so, we can't complain. I assume that the prices in the European Leg were quite similar.

If they try to sell us "cheap tickets" at 100€ or so... I wont lie, Ill keep going if they put us a good show, but the casual fans.....

For me its worth the money with BJ, but I have to admint that, if I have to pay 100€ for a seat where I cant see / hear the show I probably won't do it. When AC/DC played in Madrid, I remember that the cheap tickets where at about 70€ (at least at the begining) and a lot of people went to the show anyway without thinking "they're ripping us off".

I follow some of their die hard fans on twitter and during the live show fans
are streaming audio as well as a video to some of the dedicated fan sites and blogs and their fan sites are much better organized than U2 even
Even their manager Paul has remarked about U2 fans and blogger's several times

Got to applaud U2's pricing. I only went to see them last year as I could get a cheap ticket to Wembley for about £30 and I loved it. It got me into their stuff, and made me hunt down some of their other albums. BJ really need to take note of this- You wont win new fans charging lots for tickets, make the lowest price tickets as cheap as possible, and you will entice people that wouldnt normally come to a Jovi show, who may enjoy it and come to another, or buy your records.

It's interesting because the first time around this tour wasn't priced this way at least not in the US. My guess is after the terrible summer live shows and promoters have had, especially Live Nation, added to the fact that the album they are touring is now "old", plus U2's sensitivity toward good PR has all added up to a price change, which is nothing but a good thing for U2's fans.

Where did you see them?
Tickets for the Giants gig last year ranged from approx $30 to $75 on the floor.

Kudos to U2...That's great news for the U2 fans .... they are a good example to follow for other artists about the greed not being mandatory ....we don't have critic anything good done by other artists thinking it is tarnishing the band 's aura !! ... if anything is tarnishing the band aura it's themselves imo.... belittleing other bands won't make the bad moves from bon jovi go away ...

I don't know about the floor (which I know was GA), but I helped a friend get tickets for one of the shows at Soldier Field in Chicago last year. I was pulling seats in the 300 level for $250 each. It took awhile, but I finally pulled a decent pair in the 100s for her for the same price.
