At Monsters of Rock, rock credentials were arguably more important than Download. I think Feeder headlining Download proved that!

I will never forget the bottling that was dished out to Extreme in 1994 (though they were amusingly positioned between Sepultura and Pantera!). I think Poison received the same fate a few years before.

I do love the Race Track as a venue, though. Truly the home of rock, and as the MOR brand name has been revived lately, It would be nice to see the return of Jovi and the festival itself to Donington.

well neither are particularly appealing (for jovi to perform at), much as i loathe to say it they would be safer at T4s party in the park, full of teenage hormone junkies, not much can go wrong there.

So they are definetly happening or is that a humorous joke?
I must seem like the dumbest person today.
College is supposed to make me smarter and all it's doing is killing my brain cells.

seems pretty unsubstantiated.

as has already been mentioned, V and isle of wight are really the only ones they could or should play.

i doubt eavis would ask them to do glastonbury and even reading and leeds isn't their target audience.

i know the booker for t in the park and asked him if he'd ever get bon jovi to headline it and he said no chance because they wouldn't want them and bon jovi wouldn't do it either :'-(

the only festival i can see the band playing at would be slane! because they really are 2 big for anywhere else and also they wont get bottled lol

slane really is just a concert for them spread over 2 days with other bands playing. you never hear "u2 headlining but all this band is playing" its "u2 are playing sunday night how do we get down"

it was the same for madonna and bryan adams and i think its a crying shame Jovi have never been asked to play it! with the amount of people they can get in a concert its about time that they played it!

i remember seeing someone say on these very boards that bon jovi just aren't trendy enough......what festival organisers look for is new acts that aren't exactly household names but seem to be fashionable in certain circles....they want under talented kids who are here today and gone tomorrow, or novelty acts, like rolf doing 'stairway to heaven'.
put it another way.....if you were an organiser would you really want a band like bon jovi on for an hour doing songs like 'have a nice day, shot through the heart, livin on a prayer, one wild night or rockin in the free world'....they would totally own it

ok....rant over

Im still clinging onto the hope that they do Isle of Wight. i know alot of people have already said it wont happen but im sure they will do the odd promo show for the new album. the last few years they have had Brian Adams, REM, Coldplay think they would fit right in. as someone else said they Will OWN it.

I remember when they did the Capital Radio "Party in the Park" they only did 3 songs (think was Livin, Bad Medicine and either Bad name or Wanted) cant remember but i spoke to alot of non Jovi fans who went that day and they said they were by far the best. For the people who dont know what party in the park is about 20-30 acts play a 5-10 minute set and its a all day thing they have mainly "pop" acts but also have some big names. It was really rewarding hearing how many people spoke so highly of Bon Jovi. i obviously knew this all already!

If they did headlined IOW think it would be very similar but even better!

I guess we will have to wait and see.
