i personally think they were too optimistic thinking they could sell that out , they could have easily sold out an arena or even two (one date in the north and one in the south)

Again i think glastonbury is struggling because of the strength of the line-up , the headliners are good in there own right but to headline britian's "biggest" festival , there no way near that status. Eavis should of gone out of way , paid the huge bill but got led zeppelin , if that was the case it would of sold out within an hour! Last year the rolling stones said they wanted 1 million to play , eavis denied (which i personally think was him thinking about his own pocket and it it's not like he doesnt make millions off the festival anyway) , i personally think he should of paid the bill , and also this time gone for bigger acts!

They may not be selling out all stadiums but 72.000 in munich, 55.000 in frankfurt, 50.000 in barcelona, 40.000 in vienna, and so far they have sold 28-29.000 of 30.000 for the gig in Denmark, 38.000 of about 40.000 for the gig in helsinki and oslo is up there to, and these figures are pretty darn impressive to me. Police has cancelled their show in Denmark with only 6000 tickets sold of 35.000, and didn't bruce move one gig inddoor in germany due to poor ticketssales?? This tour, when its over will be Jovis best groosing tour ever so I'll say they're doing just fine.

Barca and Frankfurt were nowhere near selling out, lots of empty seats. Also i am not surprised the UK shows are not selling out,GC are still available and at 75 quid plus the charges little wonder, its the reason we're only doing 1 show in the uk.i don't think the current economic climate has had much effect as the tickets went on sale in november when things were much better,2009 will not be a good year for any band to tour though.

Like someone mentioned we shall see when the Boxscore numbers come in. I mean i don't know what some of you guys mean when you say that Lost Highway did terrible in Germany because it did go platinum there just like Have a nice day did, so I don't know how it was a failure. Plus if tickets were really suffering they would of cancelled the show or did like bruce did and move a show to indoors. I agree that other artists will have trouble on tour not just next year, but the rest of this year with acts like Madonna and U2

There it is from Billboard, all seven of the shows on the chart were SOLD OUT. So like someone said, wait until you have hard facts.

Yep, just as I suspected, I knew the promoter was smart enough to set a "realistic" capacity to sell them all out. I'd be pleased with those numbers if I were the band.

The promoter sets the capacity then, seems to me they were playing it safe by reducing, say a 80,000 stadium to a 60,000 capacity, is that what you mean?

Yes, that is what I mean. Plus, unlike the US arena shows where they sold seats behind the stage I don't think they are doing that for these stadium shows. But, even the smallest shows is at 34K which really isn't bad.
