Alot of people complain that some bands don't grow they become stagnant, all their music stays the same..then Bon Jovi come out with a very experimental album that may not be a huge success in some peoples eyes but it can be classed as a moderate success especially considering it was an experiment and people still complain...I think it was more a labour of love than anything else...

I happen to like the album,I know people who don't really like the band but like the album, one guy I know told me the album is amazing and he doesn't like the band...

The violin in the old songs is an issue with some people but I don't mind it,it gives a fresh sound to the old stuff...Jon obviusly felt that they needed the violin on the tour to do the new stuff justice but to justify what they are paying the extras he probably dcided to include them in the old songs to give them more work...I don't mind this as long as it's not a permanent change and I'm sure I read on this forum that they would only be here for this tour...

This guy speaks sense.

I'm not a huge fan of LH but their albums have always progressed over the years. Wether we like it or not, it's kept them relevant. That's why Jovi have done better than most other bands to come out of the 80's. I'll be surprised if they carry on the 'country' feel on future albums.

I'd ****ing hate it if they were like Def ****ing Leppard who have been releasing the same 80's sounding tripe for 25 years. Evolve dammit!!

I totally agree! with JoviboyUK and DAZ66 I happen to like LH and think that both that one and Hand is som of the best stuff they've done in quite a few years. I'd hate it too if they would have stayed the same and become Def L or Iron M. No thank you.
And honestly born_to_run if you really don't like the band anymore, why are you still here then!?
We've all heard your opinions over and over and over. Move on lad!

If Bruce Springsteen would've been selling his album the way Bon Jovi did; like giving away copies whenever someone's buying a ticket to your shows, or appearing on Idols, or, well, you get the picture, he'd have sold more copies too.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

However, this was the first album that I noticed Bruce doing some TV promotion for. They broadcast some stuff live from the Meadowlands shows for the first time ever. The band was on the Today show and Bruce also did a 60 Minutes interview. That much advertising didn't used to happen so I guess even Bruce is giving in to the demands of the business.
