Becky - I was hoping you'd be able to make it at least for the end of July Giants shows.

I'm gonna agree with Matt here. If you look at the dates so far, there are some significant gaps. However, if worse comes to worst, Montreal is only a nine hour bus ride.

Is it even possible that Nickelback would only open a few shows on the summer leg of the tour?

Maybe things will work out. I admit I'm hoping there will be some arena shows added. I'm not a big fan of stadium shows anyway.

...I never even considered that! Okay I'd say it's either one then.

I just thought about it because my housemate (and fellow Jovi fan) flat out refuses to see the band on the summer leg as she doesn't want to support Nickelback in any way, shape or form.

I had to post and run this morning, but I have another rumour to add to the thread.

This was from a "really stupid" column in the Calgary Sun on Feb 4, but seems plausible as Nickelback are from Hanna, Alberta, which is near Calgary:

Before he stopped returning my calls, Richie did mention Bon Jovi is close to firming up a Calgary date.

The word on the street is the band and promoters are looking at a show during the Stampede, which this summer runs from July 7-16.

The only other big 'Dome show booked for that two week period is country superstar Alan Jackson July 15.

There has to be at least one more Giants date.

The winner of the Have A Nice Gig contest gets to open for the band at Giants. I'm not sure I see there being two opening bands for one night - although I could be way off.

Oh yah. I wouldn't think for a second these are the only dates they'll play. More will be announced for sure.

Wow, sorry to bust any egos here, and I know none of this is official, but I HIGHLY doubt that they play Yankee Stadium. George Steinbrenner (Yankees owner) is more egotistical than Jon Bon Jovi, he ain't lettin anyone use HIS stadium. There hasn't been a concert there in over ten years. The last Springsteen tour ended with 3 dates at Shea because Bruce was shut down by the Yankee Boss. Shea is believable, though.

Also, for those wondering, and this coming from someone who lives 12 minutes from Giants and about 45 from Yankee Stadium. They aren't so far apart, if Yankee were to be true, which again, I highly doubt. Shea is a little further, as its in Queens, but nothing more than 2 hours from Giants to Shea. I'll definitely be at Giants, as it is the best place to see the Jersey boys!
