Dave or Bobby perhaps? Or maybe there's a playback at a low volume that's there just in case he doesn't go for it. Either way the main vocal is Jon's live one.

Yeah, I think that's the point. There's Jon's live voice + a playback as backin vocal. Strange....

For those of you who were there, did Jon say anything before any of the new stuff?

EDIT: Oh, and was the violinist there?

DOUBLE EDIT: Yeah, judging from the youtube vidoes she is. Wonder if she'll be on tour?

TRIPLE EDIT: ILTT has an amazing solo.

Only that he wasn't sure what to do song wise since it was a one off type of charity show but that he wanted to play some new stuff. Before ILTT, he said, he thought it was a fitting song for Vegas. The violinist, Lorenza Ponce, was there as you see from the clips. From reading Jeff Kazee's myspace both Lorenza and Kurt, the pedal steel guitar player, will be with them for this round of promotion/one off gigs this summer but Jeff will not be. Not sure if they will stay when the tour starts up in January, if that is indeed the start, lol!

The chorus one yes (since the 80's), but the part just before the solo I don't think so, at least I've never saw a concert live video with that.

No, I recall hearing it in the Live 8 performance (though not on most of the HAND tour). I think they just have it their in case if, as someone said, Jon doesn't want to go for it. It sounds like to me they cut it off if Jon starts to sing. It doesn't matter: point is he hit it, and pretty nicely.

And bjcrazypa, thanks for the info. From what I've saw on youtube, it looks like the new songs work very well live. I'm really excited seeing them in October now.
