Biggest shithole on the tour?? Manchester, without a doubt. Vile place.

Listen, I was born and bred in the city of Birmingham so that qualifies me to know what I'm talking about. Spending most of my life in the city of Birmingham - yeah the place has changed. A bit. Not much. The Bull Ring now is just a modernised version of what it was back then. Yes, its spick and span, shiny and new. Granted. But how has the city improved? Not much. The Bull Ring, as amazing as it is has infact had a negative effect on the rest of the city centre. I remember the Pallisades used to be a booming shopping centre, New Street used to be so so busy with shoppers, Corporation Street with alternative shops. Now the for-mentioned streets are desolate. Its shocking. £1 shops barely managing to stay open because the Bull Ring has sucked everything out of the city. Restaurants, cafe's, shops.
You are not qualified to say Manchester is a shit hole either - i spend a bit of time over there now I'm in Liverpool and the place is fantastic. Birmingham is only the 2nd City by name - Manchester is the true 2nd City.
Birmingham needs to look at Liverpool as a model for city redevelopment. One of the most economically deprived cities in England thanks to Maggie (i'll get onto that on the Maggie post in a bit). Now look at it. The place is unrecognisably transformed. And its always booming in every corner if the city. No street is desolate in the main centre even after Liverpool One was built. Liverpool One being a new shopping complex in the City Centre.
Birmingham has a long way to go. Birmingham is on my passport, but im being realistic. It needs work.
