Well I have decided.......

.....that if Bon Jovi announce a stadium tour in the UK for 2010 I wont be going.
It will be the first time since 1990 that I havent seen them on tour but after they broke their promise to do smaller venues after Hyde Park in 03 I am fed up with paying nearly £100 for two tickets to see a band thats an inch high.
I end up watching the big screen so might as well watch it on youtube.

If they played Hammersmith, Brixton, shepherds bush then I will be there. Maybe even the O2.

I dont know why they dont do something like 5 dates at Shepherds Bush and then do smaller venues round the UK - The length of show can be cut from 2.5 hours to 90 minutes. This would also help the band to choose carefully what to play. Not play the same songs with the odd rariety thrown in,

I saw AC/DC at Wembley this June and the sound is still awful. and it cost me £60 with booking fee. I like MK Bowl but if it pisses down (as in 96 & 01) you are fooked.

So thats it for me. Stadium tours are no more. I have been to a few gigs this year at the above places and love the smaller venues and would love to see Jovi in one. Smaller gigs are so much better than stadium gigs.

Ok. Now all you have to do is get a life and we are all sorted.

How you expect the band to play a venue like Shepherd's Bush for more than a special event is pretty much beyond me.

It's tiny. I saw Jovi play there on Bounce and yeah, a great gig, but they couldn't do that for more than a one off show.

It only holds about 1500 people!

Hyde Park was HUGE and everyone who went got their money's worth with a 28 song, +3hr setlist. The sound wasn't the best but it wasn't that bad.

If the band did say they'd play smaller venues since then, they haven't really lied have they? I don't recall main tour venues for follow up albums to Bounce having capacities of anywhere near 120 000.

Perhaps live concerts are just not for you if you cannot appreciate a band at a stadium venue.

People, general/casual fans, the majority of the audience, want to see the same staple songs in the setlists and as far as the die-hards are concerned, we accept it so long as they play at least 3-4 rarer songs at any particular gig that don't get played each night.

Oh, and rain is part of the whole experience. It's uncomfortable whilst you're waiting around but it's funny how little you notice it once the gig has started. To be fair, MK in 2001 was a light drizzle and it had stopped by the time Matchbox 20 had finished their set.

If you wanted to see proper rain, you should have been at Hampden last year but the gig was phenomenal and more than made up for it. Sometimes it makes a show - singing your heart out to 'Dry County' whilst the torrents lash down around you is an experience I won't ever forget!

While I love a 3 hour set i wouldnt be to fussed at seeing a shorter gig in an intimate venue.

Tonight I will be seeing the best live act out there called the Wildhearts.
Its it the shep bush empire and it will be heaving with people. The energy the band give will spill into the crowd and it will be immense.

You dont get that with stadium gigs. Also most of the stadiums were half empty on the LH tour. So why not play somewhere smaller?

ive been to over 200 gigs in my time. I love a gig but ill admit Im not really a stadium gig person. They are overpiced and over rated.

Hyde Park was a great gig but a dreadful venue. It was flat land so if you were small (im not) you couldnt see anything.

was you at MK bowl on the These Days tour 96?
it lashed down all day - you couldnt hear the band as the howling wind took the sound away.
You could hear a pin drop on the grass that day it was so quiet.
it was an awful gig.

After the One Wild Night Tour Jon said that they'd go back to performing in arena's in Europe. He said the same after the Bounce Tour. Obviously, it's not going to happen and I don't understand why he said it in the first place.
