But his show was a lot of blues (which I loved) and songs he hasn't played in years (which I loved) The problem was he would play a song like "Let it Rain" and maybe half the crowd knew it. Or he would play a real old blues tune like "Stop Breaking Down Blues" I think there maybe 5 people who got excited and knew that song. He would play a guitar solo before songs. These solos were amazing! Some of the best stuff I've ever heard and I would look aroung and everyone would be sitting down. Then he would play the intro to "Layla" and the crowd went nuts. Point being on that last tour he only played maybe 4 or 5 of his "hits" and I think maybe he alienated some of his fans with that. I think a lot of Jovi fans might feel the same way if at a show they only heard a set that was made up of only 50% of their hits and the rest semi obscure stuff.

The last time Clapton played, his setlist just wasn't good. I'm a big fan, but thought the setlist was crap. He's done the same on the Reptile show, playing songs nobody knew, and it was a completely different show. People got into the show because the overal performance was a lot better. He's never done more than a 50% hits show.
And Let It Rain was a bigger hit than Badge, a song that's been played for almost 30 years I guess by now. Still people enjoy Badge, because it's a good song and works well live.
