There's also things to take into account like rehearsal: they're going to need to rehearse any song they're gonna play, and I suppose they've gotta weigh up if it's gonna be worth rehearsing a song that they might play two or three times over a whole tour

well they say the dont reharse so that theory could go down the pan

I think that having bobby and Jeff helped in getting some rarities (including Dry County in there again). You know, to keep the new blood on their toes??
I think it worked well for everyone.
