It's such a beautiful song, and I find Jon sings it justice. I think sometimes he sounds beautiful singing that song. And It's the one of the best covers they've done. A few people at concert were talking through right next to me, so I gave them evil looks, LOL. I think they got the picture.
Bon Jovi's version just bores me to death, really. I've heard it one time at Twickenham and was just literally waiting for it to end. I found it that boring and can understand how people talk thru the song. It's one of those songs of which Jon thinks he can perform in order to make a stadium show an intimate experience, which just isn't going to happen. Certainly not at Twickenham with it's shit atmosphere both nights.

And one of the best covers they've done? No ****ing way. Rockin' In The Free World pisses all over it. As does Drift Away. As does the piano version of Help!. As does their version of Rockin' All Over The World. Those are songs that work. Not that Have A Little Faith In Me/Hallelujah shit Jon seems to be so fond of. That's only there because Jon likes it "and it showcases what a good singer he is jibbajabba". It's certainly not there to please the crowd. Some might enjoy it which is a bonus for Jon, but it's not done because it works so well live at stadiums and arena's. It also didn't work when they performed it without an audience. It sounded empty and flat. Would this song be performed in theatres the band might be able to do it justice, but so far they've never really nailed it. It will probably make the DVD though.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I like Hallelujah, but in small doses. I listen to it every now and then, but not often.

I can't say I'd be terribly upset if I never get the chance to experience it live either.

I love Hallelujah. Fantastic song and I love BJ's cover, but I think hearing it once at Twickenham was enough.

You're right, the song could stand to lose at least one "bangin' and sangin'".

FWIW I love both Hallelujah and Memory. But I've never experienced either of them, let alone in a stadium, so I can't comment on how well it comes off.

I love hallelujah, but its far from jovi's best cover, that has to be drift away or boys are back in town in my opinion

Whole Lot of Leavin' and Any Other Day. I only see Lost Highway as an opener... So I think they're gonna drop that off... And it sucks also as an opener.
Only song from LH I'm hoping too see in the future is Walk Like a Man.

It wasn't as big as Always, but it was played quite a bit on many stations.

MAM's video also got a ton of airplay on VH1 (when they actually show music vidoes anymore). For weeks on end, it was in the top 5 videos--backstage hard at work.

Like so many times so many of you think ya know what will or not happen. You must know by now that Jon easily picks out a song before the show he feels like doing that night. In europe he could play love this town in machester, munich or maybe amsterdam, cuz the band love to play in these towns. in amsterdam we had stick to your guns and in belgium living in sin, so there could be a summertime or we got it going on as well as the any other day, whole lotta leavins. bed of roses came back in the set, so why not strangers anymore? we just have to wait and see. 2010!
