I donīt like much nickelback, but itīs true it could be worse choice as open act like nickelback and Live were so loud in Vienna that everyone wanted to stop them. I canīt say objectively how great are they live īcause this was unbearable..Iīd rather see old rock band like leppard, cinderella maybe europe...

Why have an opening band at all??? Never really understood that.
Do what Springsteen does! 3hrs and no opening band.

I'm not disappointed. Sure, I'm not a fan of Nickelback either but we had way worse support acts in the past (Toploader, Stereophonics, Milk auf Ex etc.).

I agree though about the Dolls. I looked forward to see them live and they weren't as good as expected. But they also weren't really bad compared to the bands I mentioned above.

If you ask me about support acts, leave them. I don't need them at all.

Eheaps, a band doesn't play only for die-hard-fans, even not at their own shows. There are always people who go there because they like them without being fans. And a band has to catch them either, they can#t play only for their die-hard-fans. No band can live only from them.

Add me to the list of people who were excited then wound up disappointed with the Goo Goo Dolls. I saw them three times on the tour and each time they sucked. They also made some negative comments about the Jovi fans and seemed pissed they were opening.

I really don't care who opens either. No matter who the opening band is I am sitting there looking at my watch going "okay, this has to be close to the last song... let's get them off the stage and get to Bon Jovi."

It's not that i don't like other bands. But when I am going to a Jovi show no one is really going to make me notice them. I am too distracted with feeling that nervous anticipation, my heart is pounding, my knees are shaking, I am wondering what songs will be played and coming to terms and realizing that MY BAND will be out there in front of my eyes in mere minutes.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Maybe it was an off day for them? GGD was the BEST BJ opener and one of the best opening acts I've seen (the other is Iced Earth). Eve 6 (during OWN) was horrible and the local band who supported BJ in the X-road to the east tour was the worst thing ever. Hollow (in OKC HAND show) wasn't bad but they are not GGD.

Was it Bad Biscuit? I saw them open for Bon Jovi in '95 on TD tour and they were the biggest piece of shit I have ever layed eyes on!

No it wasn't. Keep in mind I saw them in Asia and they had a local band opening. They were ATROCIOUS. That was my first time watching a live band and they wanted to kill me with that horrific auditory assault. Wasn't a pleasant experience at all. I thought I was gonna go deaf after they finished their set. That would've been horrible.

They had at least 2 off days then since Becky and I weren't at the same concert.

Guess I was lucky in Cleveland then. I'd say that the GGD/BJ package was well worth the money.
