Jon is a ruthless guy, just look how he ****ed Skid Row over.

I guess you're too young to have "been there" during that time. Jon didn't want all the recognition. He was dying for the press to talk to someone other than him, but the press in general wasn't interested in anyone else. I have an interview with Jon and Dave somewhere where Jon said that he didn't want to do it all and Dave said he wanted to do anything. They both wanted something other than what they were getting. But Jon can't control who the press was interested in. The first Rolling Stone cover is an example. They guaranteed Jon that the band would be on the cover, but they were taking a few single shots of him for inside the magazine. Then he wound up on the cover and the people at the magazine told him they couldn't "fit" the band on the cover. Jon then referenced another cover with Paul Simon, I believe, that had a bunch of guys on the cover to show that they had lied to him about that.
And, don't forget, if Skid Row was f-ed over, Richie did it too, not just Jon. There's an interview with Snake that's been linked here many times where he says Richie lied about giving back the money. I, personally, don't believe they were screwed over. They signed a deal giving Jon and Richie publishing rights and if the stories are to be believed that Jon and Richie wrote songs for them, then they deserved publishing rights. And, seriously, it couldn't have been to much of a f-over because Snake and Rachel are still friends with Jon and have written with him post the drama (Kiss the Bastards for Saints & Sinners).
