Default When was the last time...

Yeah, quick question for curiosity's sake. When was the last time BJ ever played anything from their first two albums, OTHER than Runaway? (and apparently Tokyo Road is common in Japan, someone said once). My guess is they probably were able to stop playing their old stuff circa KTF?

Does Jon really hate his old stuff that much or can he just not sing it anymore? Listening to their first two albums, there's still a few songs on their that fit within his 'new' vocal parameters... Shot Through the Heart (that would be a suprise to everybody expecting 'YGLABN',) She Don't Know Me (who cares if Jon didn't write it? he's worked with outside writers since day 1), In and Out of Love (he's GOT to still bust this out every now and then, right?), Only Lonely... SILENT NIGHT... have any of these been performed since like... 1993 or so?

I'm just curious and I figure some of the diehards here would know.

Worked with outside writers, sure. But She don't know me is the only song to be COMPLETELY written by someone else. For this reason alone, they vow to never play it live.

Neither was Treat Her Right, Shout, Peace Love and Understanding, Won't Back Don't, Drift Away, Sympathy for the Devil, etc etc etc... i know none of these songs were on their albums but that's just a little anal... especially considering that a couple songs on These Days sound like Desmond Child's 1992 Aerosmith outtakes that Jon and Ritchie tweaked a little (Referring to Damned, Hearts Breaking Even, .... songs i LOVE, btw, but the sonic and structural similarity is rather uncanny to songs like 'Crying' and 'Crazy')

when I perfect my mind control techniques they're going to start using "Shot Through the Heart" as an intro to "Bad Name"

Eh that's pushing it a bit far. Those are cover songs that had NOTHING to do with the band, hence them playing it. The record company never forced them to put those songs on the record. The band just isn't fond of the first two records is all it is.

They did in the early days, yah, when they didn't have enough material to choose from. Im sure as soon as they had enough songs to pick from, that was the first one to get the boot, heh.

Besides Tokyo Road and Runaway, none of the songs from the first two albums have been played since the Jersey Syndicate tour. In and Out of Love, Tokyo Road, Breakout and Silent Night had slots in the setlist on the Slippery tour. Silent Night was replaced by Never Say Goodbye during the first part of the tour.

Desmond had no hand in writing Cryin', so that's pretty unlikely.

Anyone notice that the instrumentation in These Open Arms from HAND sounds like Hole in My Soul?
