'Brokenpromiseland' sound bad, too, but no way it should just be forgotten about. Best song of the decade and it needs to be played. The lack of 'Circle' songs is disappointing.

Well stated, friend. I mean, I think you can make a good case that Jon's voice is actually better now than it was in 96- but I don't even think he could *shape* his voice (layman terms) to sing My Guitar nowadays. And, again, it would be chockfull of miscues. It's in my top five- I basically think it's as close to a perfect song as you can get- but I just can't see it happening. Would love to be proven wrong, obviously.
And I'm glad you concur BPL is the best song of the decade

It definitely wasn't phenomenal the one time they played it, but some refining definitely could have done it justice; everything about the song indicates it should rock live, and it's a shame they just discarded it after the second show of the tour. As stated elsewhere, it just seems to me that Jon and Co. gave up on the Circle towards the end of the US Leg. Which is a shame, because the only way to get people to recognize it's got some really good songs is to play them.
