Another geographically-challenged North American checking in here.

I've been a fan since 1986 and have only seen them in concert 4 times and only 2 times in my own city. Canada, like the USA, is a very big country, and only 2 cities (Toronto & Montreal) in our entire country got concerts during the Bounce tour. Lucky Toronto is getting a summer show as well, but that still isn't in my local area.

Toronto - 1292 miles one way or 20 hours drive non-stop
Montreal - 853 miles one way or 13 hours drive non-stop

Boston - 647 miles one way or 10 hour drive non-stop - actually my closest concert city, but it's in another country! And then I have the increased costs due to the Canada/US dollar exchange.

In 2000, I took a mini-vacation to see the 2 shows in Toronto & Montreal. With plane, train & cab fares, plus hotel & other expenses, it probably cost me $1000. That's not an expense I can afford every tour, especially when I can't even get lower level seats.

So that's pretty much why this North American has seen so few shows. And I don't care that I don't get to see them 20 times each tour, because I do think it would become less of a special event, but 1 or 2 shows a tour would be really nice.

Yeah... Except that I don't drive, I have to fly or sail my way out of Finland (sail with one of those huge car/passenger ferries that run between Finland and Sweden).

See, if you look at the map and locate my home town Turku from the south-western coast of Finland, you'll see that if I was to drive to a gig anywhere out of my country, like in Sweden, I'd have to drive AALLLLLL the way up to the Finnish-Swedish border some 770 km from Turku and then back down again on the Swedish side of the Gulf of Bothnia. So I either fly or usually just take a ferry to Stockholm.

The only ways for me to go to gigs somewhere further than in Sweden are flying or using the ferry + trains. I don't have a car, so even tho the passenger ferries take cars as well, I just couldn't do it.

I should, shouldn't I. But I like where I live, except during Jovi tours, so I think I'll stay put. If only I could just win that 25 million dollar lottery tonight, then I'd definitely do a Jovi tour this summer.

I think the biggest fan is:

A) the tallest person
B) the fatest person

Well, there are some benefits to living in New Jersey. This tour I will get to see 5 shows with very little effort. The farthest I drove was to Albany, NY which is 1 1/2 hours away. All 4 other shows are about 20 minutes from my house. Life is good.

What a silly exaggeration!

I know, it's tough living in the northeast, isn't it?
This year there are 12 shows within 3 hours of my house. Now if only I had enough money to actually go to all of them...

we do have a good train system yes, but have you ever heard about the prices? it's ridiculously expensive! many of you seem to have a wrong impression of the "small and convenient" europe. its not like we can see 2 or more different shows and drive back home after each one. even for us it costs several hundred euros for one show, if its not in the city you live in. (at least for me, maybe not in england )
Sorry!! I didn't realize it was that costly. I guess only those who live in the Northeastern US have it really good. LOL. Times like this are the ONLY times I wish I still lived in Jersey. Well, this and hurricane season, but that's another subject..........LOL.
