the biggest fan for me is not someone who collects all the singles or goes to all the shows to be at the front

but goes to shows just to see/hear them, regardless of where they are seated/stood

there are so many on here who are bigger fans than me (and richer) but i can't think of anyone i've ever heard of who does whole European tours who does not always report back saying how they were in the 2nd row or on the barrier
I am not rich, I have saved a lot money to do 9 shows and I am sure not always 2ed row.
I will try to get a good spot at some of them, but at at least 4 shows I will not make it 2 the first couple of rows cause I am arriving late.
I think what you are saying is not true.

If you are a fanclub member it's not really difficult to get somewhere in the front few rows since we get the wristbands for the area in front of the stage.

And because of "rich". I am for sure not rich but touring are my hollidays. Other people spend 2 or 3 weeks somewhere on the beach a few times a year and pay at least as much as I do for the tour. I don't make "real" hollidays because my hubby can't for work reasons (he has his own little shop and can't close it for a few weeks). So touring are my hollidays. My last real hollidays are years ago.

i still think what i'm saying is true

and in my opinion I personally think that makes you a very big fan then - and the right type of fan i'd like if i was a touring musician

I'm a teenager and I took off school to go on a 9 hour trip to Nashville because it was the closest they were at the time.

My SISTER, 21 years old, drove me..and my parents actually allowed that.

I live in the South like Becky, except I am younger and have only seen them once.

I completely understand, Christine. Concerts are my versions of vacations, too! People look at me like I'm crazy sometimes, but I just tell them, "Hey, I haven't been on a vacation for ten years. Let me have some fun for once! "

Back to the original topic at hand -- I think the reason we don't see a lot of American fans posting their "followings" on this board is because the majority of them are, for the most part, at Backstage. There, you'll find folks who have seen them over 100+ times and people who have seen them at least ten times so far on THIS leg of the US tour (don't even get me started on those who plan to see them ten more times for the second US leg! Yeesh!) I think it's just a difference in board population.

Because some of us die hard fans from 1986 are married and have children....so going to 20 something shows would be considered a bit crazy actually. Sorry!

Amen to that Christo! Perhaps if we got a full tour then the sales of "Bounce" wouldn't be as sh!thouse as they are!

There's plenty of people in the U.S. who travel to shows -- my friends and I have been to at least 800 shows between the three of us since 1987. However, in judging the biggest fan, is the amount of shows really the criteria to be used? People who go to a lot of shows may be well-traveled, but is that the best measure of fandom? I don't think there's really any criteria you can use. Fans are fans are fans, no matter how many shows they've gone to, things they own, how many years they've been around. It just causes problems to try to quantify things like "biggest fan;" it pits fans against each other and creates artificial competition that doesn't need to be there.

I have to agree. I wish I had the money to spend and travel to see shows, but I dont. I like having a place to live and have to feed my kids. Its just at this point seeing Bon Jovi isn't my priority. I again will miss this tour, like the crush tour and OWN...maybe next time

And I dont believe there is a way to measure who is a better fan. Everyone has their own way of being a fan and supporting the band. I've only seen 4 shows, and have been a fan since the early 80s.I dont think it makes me a bigger fan than anyone else, and I dont feel that someone who has seen 50 or 100 shows is a bigger fan.
