Default Thunder!!!!!!

Id like to see THUNDER supporting the boys again. They have an excellent new album out. Anyone remember them from Wembley 95?

Or how about the cast from We Will Rock You opening up. They would get everyone in the mood :P

If you havent seen this show already I cant recommend it enough.

i knew some songs, and certainly knew them by the 2nd gig

just cos they didn't rock doesn't mean they weren't a good band and i did enjoy them as a "support act" (nothing else) [delirious were a joke IMO - i love you god, oh how i love you god... they were just a normal band lyrically where instead of being in love with a woman in red stockings, dress, high heals, they were in love with God and Jesus]

they didn't rock though

dylan doesn't rock
richard thompson doesn't rock
"some" of jethro tull doesn't rock

scorpions rock
iron maiden rock

and yet i like all the above

I don't need to know people's songs to apreciate the music... I've been to see bands like Walter Trout having heard one album once, I didn't know a single song he played, however it was an increadible concert, and I'm looking forward a hell of a lot to seeing him again in October.

Matchbox20 didn't rock. They were an ok support band, in that they didn't piss me off... One of their songs was ok, but nothing there made me want to listen to them again. I don't think they were good, they were not bad, like Craploader and all the other awful suports I've seen with Bon Jovi.

Loosening up has nothing to do with it. I (and I know Tom) go to lots of concerts to see bands I know very little, if nothing of because they have a reputation. That's not just rock, although granted 99% of them are roughly in that area (blues, countryish, pop rock e.t.c). If I like a band I'll say so, I know enough about them to know that they're not the type of band I like... and in actual fact, Theirry has played me a track, and I didn't like it, it just wasn't what I would class as good music... Matchbox20 didn't do it for me, I'm not going to pretent to like their set to make myself more outgoing... So long as I hear good music I don't mind, and their music wasn't as bad as it could have been, so I didn't find them as bad as the other supports. Example, Peter Garbiel had the.. erm... Blind Men of Alabama or somethign like that, very elderly black soul music, actually more gospal music. I don't like that type of music, but they could sing (increadible actualy) and they could play, so although I didn't really like the music, I could apreciate it, so they were a good enough support band. I'm not expecting LIVE to play 'music'.

Is it just me or... personally I don't want a support act for Bon Jovi. I think they stand alone and don't need it. A support act is usually to get a crowd going so they are psyched up for the main act.. don't know about you, but I'm ready days in advance!!!
The support acts are usually crap anyway, no listens to them and everyone is just waiting for the main act. And I don't think they need one.

That's why I'd sooner see a young band playing music in that area.... I don't need to see a well known band trying to plug their new single. As much as I love bands like Van Halen, it doesn't need to be a Monsters of Rock type concert for the tickets to sell, and so I don't think it's nessesarily important to have Van Halen, or the Scorpions as a support (although that would be the ideal)...

I'd sooner see 30mins of a new band, who are tyring to play good music (being with Bon Jovi prefereably good rock music, but so long as they can (and do) play they'd be ok)... I'd sooner somebody was getting given a shot at making it in a world where good music is just laughed upon, it's the only way good music will survive.
