I agree with you completely. I hold my hands up and admit I felt sick after buying four tickets for that show after finding out how much it would cost. I guess it was the magnitude of the occasion that prompted me to pay out and I did regret it.

Maybe that's why I feel so strongly about it now. I left the O2 in 2007 feeling let down and annoyed at only getting 90mins for the £110 ticket, although the atmosphere was absolutely electric and the best I have experienced at a Jovi show. Those tickets have now seen a 100% mark-up and I sincerely doubt the atmosphere will be replicated in any of the five upcoming shows even if the setlists are slightly more balanced than they were for the LH promo gig.

These tickets are already on Ebay well above face value for seats that aren't in the "premium" areas.

The point that seems to be missed here is why aren't methods such as printing your photo on the ticket being utilised instead of the promotor trying to tap into the profits that the touts are making.

Apart from the lucky few that get the seats they want in the presale, if these sell out then those that want good seats will likely pay well over face value as they will have to buy from Ebay.

Of course if it doesn't sell out, then bargains will be had.

So you think it's ok because some are willing to pay whatever it takes to get a good seat that everyone should pay the same vastly inflated price, a price that will be artificially pushed up by the stampede of panicked idiots in the 24 hour period after the shows go on sale? Besides, it's one thing to ask a price like this but no guarantee anyone will pay it. Come the month of the shows only the front few rows in the A-blocks will hold any value, the rest will all be under face value.

Here is an auction that would not even have covered the sellers costs by the time you add in fees -

No, I think they should put photos on tickets to cut down on touts artificially increasing prices.

Also, not everyone is paying the same inflated price - you can get good seats for £75 (again, if your lucky)

That is the risk they are taking though. If they don't sell out, then there will be bargains to be had.

Only by about £4. It will be interesting to see how these sell on Ebay.

Here's the email address of the Metro's showbix reporter. I'd bet he'd be quite interested in the fans' response to the prices. For non-Londoners or Brits, the Metro is a free morning paper almost everyone reads on the way to work. The paper is also hosting Jovi 02 ads.

andrei.harmsworth@ukmetro.co.uk

A story along the lines of 'Bon Jovi backlash' would be good copy, especially with the profile of the band quite high in the lead-up this week to X-Factor.

Oh, and let them know about the FB page, petition, Backstage complaints etc. Make a better story.
