The honest answer is that they are probably being paid lots of money to play in these places.

I'm sorry If I give you high hopes now, but isn't Calgary in Canada, hosted winterolympics in 1988??? On their toursites it says Calgary, AB, but I don't know what AB means. It also says Edmonton, AB, I thought that was Canada too.
I thought my geographyknowledge was good, but it might not be as good as I thought...
I'm very sorry if I mislead you into something now

Nope, PR might in terms of cost, because God know why it's so costly livin here, but it's just the way things are right now, ****ed up.

Considering the kind of shows and productions that go to South America, They are not far behind at all.

I'm very glad they played outside UK, US, Germany as I mentioned earlyer.
I made this thread cause I find it a bit weird and odd that they decided to play in Puerto Rico, cause as far as I know, they haven't been there very often, have they???
I see as godd news that they play in Puerto Rico and I hope you had a great show!

OK? No hard feelings???

End of diplomacy
Sorry I'm just a bit defensive and angry today.

Don't know why...

Montreal will get their show, don't they always?

As for one-off shows here in Edmonton and Calgary, it's what we've been waiting for, for 12 years. These 2 cities were good decisions to play, especially while promoting a "country" album. We're slightly redneck out here. LOL.

I just wanna give the biggest thanks to whomever got Jovi back out here. I feel like I've waited for this forever. The last time I saw them here, I was 15. I am 28 now. That's a huge deal to me.

Me too. i was 16, 28 now. but that was my first jovi show and i remember how exciting it all was leading up to the show and how awesome the show was and all of it. This edmonton show may be my 36th show, having had to travel for them all these years, but this show means more than a giants stadium or wembley stadium because it's HOME! and i'm sure they won't play a full jovi show, but it's still going to feel real good. Just to have them back is a blessing, imo.
When the calgary show was announced,i thought THAT was cool just having them back in alberta. Having them do both now is just amazing! And i just hope they'll see they had no trouble selling out in both places, and will come back again on real tours like they used to. Small hope maybe, but a ray of light nonetheless. I'm still treating these shows like they'll never be back again so i'm taking it all in and going to MAKE A MEMORY indeed

when the calgary show was announced i emailed a guy at the stampede, some head promotion guy or something like that. I just wanted to say thanks for doing whatever they had to do to finally get them. He told me they've been trying to get them for "several years" and that the stars finally aligned this time.
i do remember the rumours surrounding the calgary stampede last year and for whatever reason it didn't pan out. i'm thankful it worked out this year, and of course for edmonton too.

these may be "weird" shows, but it's loooooooooooong overdue when certain other spots get spoiled rotten and they've just ignored us here.
