Default Why are we still getting TLFR versions?

Why oh why are we still getting TLFR versions of:

I'll be there for you & Bed of roses.

I have a real problem with these because not only are they 2 of the best ballads but they also feature some great guitar work. I do feel sold a bit short with this. Surely everyone out there would rather hear the original versions?

I know that we will never hear the original of Always as Jon struggles to sing that now, but he must be able to sing I'll be there for you & Bed of roses?

What do you think?

IBTFY is not being done TLFR, at least not for the #9 Pru show and the Canada shows (other than maybe Montreal night 1).

The only song that is TLFR is BOR.

I'll Be There For You is the full electric, classic version, and it sounds awesome.

Overall, I do believe that This Left Feels Right was a project somewhat intented to be an artistic endeavour, but mostly, I feel it was a way to reintroduce some classic songs sung differently, as Jon has trouble hitting the notes nowadays.

I think it was an artistic experiment, but it also helped getting people used to lower octaves, and less really high notes.

Although I prefer the original Bed Of Roses version to the TLFR version, obviously!!!, I have to say, the version they've been doing suits what Jon does during the song. He walks slowly around and mingles with the crowd, and dances with a girl, and basically says hi to the fans. The slow pace works well for this, and the full version would be too hard to sing while doing this. The version comes off sounding really romantic, and its been a hit everytime I've seen it done.

BoR can actually be hard to sing - consider the chorus: listen to it on the record carefully - it's not massively high, but there are sustained notes, and it goes up, down and then back up. Any sort of vocalist (even me, who just sings backing in a band) would probably say that it can be hard to sing.

As people have said IBTFY is nowhere near TLFR. I can just about live with them doing BOR in that style, i'll just be very disappointed if Always is given a run out and its TLFR. Out of all the songs from TLFR Always was the one that saddened me most.

Um, yes i will agree that IBTFY sounds awesome but it is not the full blown electric version. It's not TLFR by any means but it is acoustic that's for sure.

I am so so so so so so so so so so sick of Bed of Roses, and the whole dancing with a girl in the crowd is also getting so old, that isn't even a surprise to most people unless they have never been to a concert before, Jon has been doing the dance since the Crush tour, that's what about 8 years now??

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

For the same reason we got a crap album with LH: They don't have it anymore t the moment and should either retire or have a long break and think HARD about their next steps. This record/Tour is embarrassing and does lots of harm to a once fabulous band
