Default Why BOR (TLFR) ???

Why oh why do we seem to have the TLFR version of 'Bed of roses' at every show?

I know they can't play the original version anymore but there are so many other songs instead to change it with etc:

Never say goodbye (Acoustic) - Always sound good.
Silent night (Acoustic) ?? - Why not? This would be a rare treat.
(It's hard) Letting you go - Sound checked this tour.
Lie to me ?? - Why not?
Always (TLFR version if they have too) - Was played on the HAND tour.
Thank you for loving me ?? - Why not?
Miss 4th July (Box set)?? - Why not?
These arms are open all night (Box set)?? - Why not?
Runaway (2000 Acoustic version) - I liked that on the Crush tour.

These are a few choices which could be thrown in to mix things up. Why choose the same song every night. They must know that the crowd don't want that version?

I sure as hell dont want them to play it.. I would love for them to play the normal version (they can still pull off the original i believe)

but i would MUCH rather have another song in place of this tlfr crap..
Jon solo on stage with an acoustic guitar HUMMING bed of roses, is better than that slaughter of a masterpiece they play now

I like this version of the song but would love the original played again, i doubt very much that thats going to happen...

You've given a list of other songs in its place, we could do that with every song on the set...

I agree with you, in that I hate the TLFR BoR. Any of your choices would fit. Hell, I'd even take the exact same vocals from Jon, just backed by an acoustic guitar arrangement. The problem is, and maybe this is only a US thing, is that it goes over well. A lot of the casual fans eat it up because it's the recognizable BoR lyrics, combined with Jon in the crowd. Hell, most of them probably don't even notice the change

Didn't the band say somewhere that they wouldn't play TLFR after the HAND tour? Or maybe I imagined it. Anyway, the TLFR version of Bed of Roses is probably the least noticeably different to the casual fan. (I'm guessing the girl who gets to dance and kiss Jon doesn't give a s*** either ). I lovelovelove the original (one of my all-time favourite Bon Jovi songs), but this was my favourite TLFR arrangement so I don't really mind if they play it. They didn't in Perth, which a lot of people had wanted to hear (along with Always). hackster's suggestions would be cool though, some real gems in there. SILENT NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT................. Slightly off topic, but when was the last time they played anything from 7800F, or something from These Days other than the title track?

They did Diamond Ring at the end of the Canadian leg of this tour. I don't know about 7800 -- wish they would, though.

I believe the last time anything from 7800 was played would be when the Tokyo Road album was played on the Asian leg of the OWN Tour.

Shame to ask but... why don't they play normal bed of roses anyways?

The main reason is that JBJ can't pull of the vocals well enough to make it stick. That's the same with 'Always' etc and other powerful songs.

Sad but true
