I think if they had made a two part album (one CD but split like the two sides of a vinyl), first all nu drop D sound and then acousticosofty, it would stand a bit better.

The most nu metal riffs on the record are Hook Me Up (Dminor to Eb5 I think? Pure dissonance by Jovi standards, and it's even in drop D) and Undivided (which is basically a Weezer riff though). Undivided has been played live the most I think?

I wonder if, had they realized how much stronger Misunderstood would perform, they could have made a more traditionally Jovi "rock tune" version. It's a great song, but I'm not sure how it'd work as a first single in 2002.
