Question Why don't they play so many great songs?

It's known that BJ live isn't what it used to be.

1)Some could say that it's because Jon can't sing the pre Crush songs and even some from Crush.

2)Some could say that it's because they're tired of them and/or think people got tired of them.

3)Some could say that it's because they just don't care.

If it's 1. Don't u think that people wouldn't mind hearing the songs lowered for jon to sing them anyway? I surely wouldn't! Like I said in other posts I think Jon should get over the fact that his voice isn't what it used to be.

If it's 2 and the band is tired of playing the songs I can't say much. Just that it's sad but fair. They ain't making us go to their shows. On the other hand, if they think we are tired of the old songs they rarely play and maybe some they never did they are soooooo wrong and someone should open their eyes.

If it's 3. I'd say Go take care of ur kids Jon. Get off stage.

What do u guys think?

Aloha !

Because they can't and are lazy ****ers who don't care about their fans. They hate to rehearse, so they don't do it. Sure they think about people hearing the same stuff over and over again, but they're so full of their own hits and how great they that they're forgetting that fans who've been with them for 5 or more years would like to hear something different.

So, lazy ****ers who just don't care.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Thats about right really. They just think that all the bloody fans are casual fans who just wanna see a a greatest hits package, which in reality is not true whatsoever. Even the casual fans, wouldnt go home disappointed if the band threw in one or two rare songs.

Yes true Kev.

I also think they are too lazy yes and too scared the audience wouldn't like hearing some old good rock songs. They don't like taking risk ...

If they'd listen more to their fans who follow them since a long time or fans who discovered some old cd's recently they knew they all want to hear some old songs even if the version wouldn't be exactly the same.

I remember that during one of the listening parties for the HAND album that someone asked about playing different songs on tour and people booed when the question got asked. If that's the case, then Bon Jovi probably think that their die-hards fans want to hear the same songs every tour.

I guess the contact between Jovi and their fans aren’t that good. I can't just phone Richie and tell him do pull of some great guitar solos, now can I?

Many big artists and bands tends to become like this. it's a pity.

As always, Jovi need a break or a "real" reinvention. That would make them a bit more interested in their own music.

And, as Seb said, they have to do more rehearsals. Many songs can't be played as they used to play them, but that don't mean that they shouldn't play them. They just have to modify them a bit (and not in some TLFR way...).
Perhaps Richie and David could do some more singing, or perhaps they should but in more acoustic songs in their set lists. They have to do something otherwise Bon jovi will fade away...
