Perhaps, so. I’ve heard that they planed to do 4 GS shows for HAND tour, but they couldn’t sell 3 GS shows out and didn’t add 1 more show.

Heard about this too, but how could they not sell out a show before it was even announced and then cancel it?

I was at those shows, and they were definitely sold out. The only empty seats were behind the stage.

Doesn't explain Boston. Last tour, they sold out 2 nights at the Garden (20,000 each night) and 1 night in Foxboro (50,000). Also, how do you cancel a show because it didn't sell out before the announcement is made?

They were sold out. I was at all 3 and only seats behind the stage were open.

They only did 8 stadium shows when they returned to North America after touring Europe, while they had planned more shows. And although a lot of dates did sell out, the demand wasn't as high as they thought it would be. You could easily get a ticket for any stadium show at that time. And yes, the band did plan on doing 4 Giants shows, and actually planned a stadium tour in North America before returning to Giants in the end.

Another example of a tour that was cancelled before it was anounced: Back in 2005 the band had planned an entire European Tour in the Summer of 2005. Because some venues had been booked, some dates started to leak. But because of the album not being finished the dates were cancelled before the official anouncement went out. Some took place at the same venue next year like the one in The Netherlands, some were cancelled.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

That's nothing new. For the last 3 tours they've only played a handful of stadium shows in North America. I don't understand saying the demand wasn't high. Every arena show they played in North America sold out. Seems like a high demand to me.

I have a question about the 2006 Giants shows, and the 2007 Pru. shows?
How many seats actually went unsold? Is there anyplace to get that kind of info?

The 4th Giants show was supposed to add on the last Sunday (next day of 3rd show), but the rest of 3 shows were not sold well as AEG expected. I believe that the sold seats per show in 2006 were about 10,000 or 20,000 less than their shows in 2003... In terms of "sold out", if they limited the seats for sales like 30,000 even though the capacity of a venue is 80,000, and the sales reached 30,000, then it's sold out.
