I know bands tour to get more sales, but at the same time you have to be realistic. If you're no longer popular in an area, especially at Bon Jovi's age, you don't tour there. How embarrassing would it be for them to play to a three quarters empty stadium? They have enough money, they don't need to put themselves through that.

One word...ARENA.
Thank you!! How right you are!

thats not their style? almost everything they play in the states are arenas
Exactly. On top of that, the chances of selling out a stadium would be greatly increased if the band had done an arena tour only a few months previous in virtually the same place.

I'm just trying to make the point that between selling out arenas in America, selling out stadiums abroad and selling out arenas abroad, selling out arenas abroad is the one most likely to miss out. They play tons of shows each year, and there has to be a cut off point or they'll get worn out.

Political climate probably has somethign to do with it. I'm not sure what it was, possible the recent special on the music business, but I saw Jon talking about touring and how they used to play everywhere and now there are all these places they can't go for safety reasons anymore. He's mentioned in the past that they want to go to Israel, but you can bet it won't happen because of all the unrest and terrorism in the area. It would obviously not be a good idea to go into Korea now. Any rock concert would be a great target for a terrorist organization because it would be a large group of people assembled. They band shouldn't put themselves in danger to tour.

From all I've heard about the economy in Australia the past several years, that is the probably cause of few concerts there.

I don't see any reason for them not coming to India. Here it is very safe and noting political about it.
