Probably because the obtuse answer is the right answer in this case.

If the well put reason from Kenobi were true they wouldn't be playing the TLFR reason from Bed Of Roses either.

The TLFR/Piano IML is the only track of off that shitass record that I can stand, and I love the version with AAR, but it wouldn't work in an arena show. No way at all.

Exactly, I don't want to see other people with Jovi, be it country singers or whoever. They all ruin the good songs.

Well, TLFR It's My Life doesn't really lend itself to dancing on a podium with a girl from the crowd.......

While I have to assume you are all right about it not 'lending' itself to arena rock, I have to note the hypocrisy as well. IML as a ballad is just as good as any other BJ ballad; it's all the same chords/progressions and people like the original song anyway. Add to that the fact that they played TLFR songs all the time this tour as well as country rock and I still have to say that it was a missed opportunity and would have fit here better than in any other tour. The arenas would have been filled with illuminated cellphone-stand-ins for lighters had they played it just as they were for the other ballads.

Just my opinion, though your reasonings are probably sound as well.

TLFR Bed of Roses gets feathers ruffled over here - but most of the time 90% of the crowd doesn't even notice that it's not the original. I assume it's because the original is a ballad as well.

Good luck getting no one to notice that you're playing TLFR It's My Life instead of the original. If they wanted to do something a bit different, they could try an a cappella/acoustic intro in a similar vein to what they do with Prayer.

And I don't know about playing TLFR songs "all the time" this tour... I know they did on the HAND tour but it was just Roses this time wasn't it? And the electric version returned midway through the tour.

Yeah, people, especially casual fans, or people who are seeing the band for the first time, like their hits played the way they are on the albums. Personally, I think that the Unplugged version of IML is the best version the band have done, but I can see that a lot of the audience wouldn't want it played like that

Of course it would have worked Tlfr version is better than the orig and the unplugged version withh AAR is amaizing.Besides anyone remember a certain down tempo version of Runaway on the Crush tour? I know some are goin to say it sucked but i thought it worked.

I liked that version of Runaway but It's My Life is pretty much their signature song for the new generation, while Runaway is nothing more than their first single. Using Perth as an example; huge cheer as soon as Richie started the talkbox at the beginning of IML... versus half the crowd barely recognising Runaway even though it's on Cross Road.
