I seriously doubt that Jon would do justice to either Hey God or Something To Believe In nowadays. That might be part of the reason.

STBI was really good from the bootlegs I've seen of the Bounce Tour.
And his voice seems to be even better now than then.

No it wasnīt. He avoids every high note and "cheats" with the vocals throughout the entire song.

It isn't Yokohama 96 by any means, but it's still a pretty good performance, and I would agree that JBJ would be able to do the electric version justice nowadays. I'd rather them still perform the song than not at all.

That was the exact performance I was thinking of, ironically.

It was the first half of the second show in Minneapolis on the Bounce tour. It was a very cool show, the acoustic set was pretty amazing to see as we rarely get sets like that in the US. It was the night they taped the Command the Band chick announcing the band for a live show. Jon said he wanted to do something different for the fans there since they had been there just a couple of months before with the standard Bounce tour show.

Well, thatīs not particularly good IMO. Itīs okey, nothing more. The song really lacks something when Jon doesnīt sing the high notes and I really think it would be even more obvious in a full-blown electric version.

Still, I wouldnīt mind hearing it since I really love the original version. Luckily enough, Iīve already heard it once (in this version though) in Kiel, the same tour.

But yeah, I really think itīs one of the main reasons they donīt play it anymore and I think this clip prooves it.

I havent had the chance to hear too many live performances from the last couple of tours but that acoustic version of STBI seemed pretty good. Certainly better than some of the older live performances I have seen (These Days Yokohama springs to mind). It had some high notes and the song seemed a bit more melodic if anything. Rarely do singers go all out in acoustic performances. I'd prefer them to change songs slightly that are a bit high and still play them rather than just delete them completely.

On the topic of the 3 songs.....

This Ain't A Love Song
I Believe

Cheers
Steve
