Will we ever see the Classic albums performed live in full?

Certainly everything from Slippery to These Days and probably Crush as well is good/popular enough to make it a worthwhile venture - 5 nights at Meadowlands anyone?

i'm not sure those albums (possibly with the exception of these days) are "musical" enough to get away with doing something like that.

when you look at bands who tend to do that, prince, roger waters, dave gilmour, bowie etc... they tend to be shooting for something a bit more than 3 minute pop tunes.

I was going to say... this isn't Pink Floyd we're talking about. The closest you'll get is one off promotional shows, in the way they did with Lost Highway when that was released.

Never, hopefully. The flow on These Days and Crush is terrible. Bon Jovi haven't made an album with a proper flow since New Jersey, no matter how good certain albums after that one are.

That would be heaven to see bowie do that then Jovi do New jersrey lol what a couple of shows they would be. However i dont think we'll see the other albums played all the way through

Obviously any one song from say Dark Side, or Brian Wilson's Smile is always going to be better as part of a whole in a way that isn't the case for BJ, but it doesn't mean lighter albums wouldn't make for a good set.

Two of the best bands I've seen do these shows have been Cheap Trick (Heaven Tonight & In Colour) and the Lemonheads (Shame about Ray), all absolutely massively packed with 3 minute pop tunes. And I absolutely cannot ****ing wait to see Earth Vs. The Wildhearts in the autumn.

It's not been so much the musicality as the importance of the work to either a band's career or the era they were created. And just an overall sense of coherence.

Was Crush really so badly sequenced? I'll agree that NJ is probaly the highpoint in that respect.

i dunno there are just albums and artists that lend themselves to that sort of gig i mean the stones could do it with a bunch of records and they're pretty much a 3 minute bar band but i just couldn't see it being that good if bon jovi did it to be honest.

imo have a nice day would probably be their best sequenced album to do it with but it's not exactly up there with DSOTM is it?

Not because it's a classic or anything, but I think the HAND album would work well live.
