If they would only do 3 hours every night...

That set shocked me too. Most casinos won't allow a musical act to play that long. They want people out on their floor feeding money to machines. When I went to the Hard Rock show in Florida last year, someone welcomed me and Christy into the venue and told us exactly how long the band would play and that if we wanted to leave to go to the casino floor we would be allowed readmission to the concert.

Will I pay these prices to see the band? Once or twice a tour, depending on where/when. I have to consider tranportation to any show since they ignore the majority of the Southeast in tour plans.

I will go and I am saying now that these prices are NOT indicative of the tour. No way they get $337 in Columbus OH or Nashville, TN. The prices are set because AEG knows that to Bon Jovi fans, NJ shows are seen as "special" because it's NJ, lol!! They know locals and folks from all over the States and overseas will travel in for these shows.

The front sections of floor seats are $337 and the first couple of side sections (and not all the rows) are $337. From there, tickets are staggered from $154 down. And again, I will say, most of the ticketmaster auctions on the HAND tour went for way more than $337 so whose fault is that.

As much as folks whined about the price of the fanclub tickets everyone of them sold, in less than 24 hours for all 5 shows.

....Just because they can get high prices doesn't mean they should charge high prices.

...what with Ticketmaster acting as touts and now Backstage...trying to cling onto some faith here!

With a band like Bon Jovi..the loyal and faithful should be at the front...not just the richest.

I will go, but will only attend 1 event. I went to 2 on the HAND tour and was hoping to do 3 or 4 on the next tour.

Its not just me I normally am the organiser of our little party. Anything from 4-8 of us go. Its just too much money for a 2 hours of entertainment.

£100 plus booking fee of £10.50 was too much for some of our group.

"Theres a differant kind of meaning to livin on a prayer", yeah cause were paying for you to have an even better life style. Cheers Band.

US venues seating aren't odd at all. They're arenas. The cheapest ticket is going to run $67, and those will be in the nosebleeds. If the most expensive ticket only ran $90, I wouldn't give a shit. It's the $337 price being associated with Bon Jovi that taps my ass.
Well maybe they're not odd, but they're different to what I'm used to, I'm just trying to get a handle on it

So its easy enough to say "nosebleeds" and imagine you'd need binoculars to see ... when I saw the band at Wembley Arena 2002 I was quite literally in the second to back row of seating and still had a great time. $67 is about ... £34, yeah that's probably about what I paid at Wembley I'd imagine ... I think people are too hung up on this "must be right at the front in order to enjoy it" thing

And from what Deb says, the $337 falls very sharply down to $150ish for the next best section .. so £76 ... admittedly that's still a lot, but I guess the fact of it is that you pay for the best section you can afford. Although I agree, I would hope the tickets aren't this much on a regular tour. I don't think they will be though

I had another thought actually

Didn't someone mention that this arena is part of a wider project to improve Newark? It's thats the case, is it possible that the Government / council / whatever you'd call the relevant party may want to make some money off of it?

I don't buy the theories that blame the costs of a new building or government subsidies for high ticket prices. Any of these would have to be levied by the arena and included in the price of hiring the hall. Even for a new facility, it would be a bad idea to price themesleves higher than the ample local competition. NJ/NYC is not short of arenas and amphitheatres - meadowlands/MSG/uniondale/PNC/Long Beach/Camden etc.

Because a) Prince has found Jesus again and is off to meditate for a while so wants as many people to see him as possible before he goes? Maybe?
b) It's a promotional gimmick, 32.21..
