Default Worst Jon Adlib EVER!!!!

I think we're all familar with how Jon will adlib during certain songs. Not sure if it's exactly adlibbing, since he wrote the songs, but in any event, you know what I mean. He'll just slightly change the lyrics a bit. IE - Live In London, during Prayer, when he changed "what he used to make talk so tough", to "with his stratocaster used to talk".

Anyways, I got a double CD soundboard quality of the Osaka show. During Story Of My Life, he changes "gonna write the melody that's gonna make history", to "gonna write the melody that's gonna rhyme with sakki".

WTF is that crap????

BTW - Not sure if it's just the sound on the CD or DVD, but every show I have in Japan, all of which are good quality, I can bearly hear the audience. What's up with that?

Milton Keynes 2001
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead

"We'll make every night like Milton Keynes"

Either the best ad-lib ever, or the worst. I'm not sure......

I know what you mean, i think there was an interveiw done in 2000 or sumthin and they ask about how the crowds on different parts of the world react to different songs, Japan is the example they use. Jon says they love to hear Tokyo Road, and Richie says something about how the crowds in Japan go crazy for about 4 seconds after each song and then go quiet. It's weird!

No, I know that.

Just a stupid adlib.

What's next - "Oooooh, we're half way there, Oooooh, livin' on a beer", for the US shows?

I think the sakki line is funny!

But anyway, I'm thinking Japanese people are more respectful, and maybe feel that they should listen intently and quietly when the band is playing? Maybe that's why they cheer after - like they're watching theatre or something.

That's great, but for me, I would think the band would like the audience cheering and appreciation during the songs. That's what makes it a rock concert, and gives the band energy and will which they always say they need to make a good show!

I think it's so cool if he changes the lyrics but just with something "useful". ín these days for example instead singing "he just jumped and closed his eyes." he sang something like "I watched Jimmy jumped and closed his eyes". So you can see that's live.
