What stopped you from going during the later tours? Considering they remained a great live act for many years after that and played in the Netherlands many more times. Did you simply stop being a fan after the NJ album?
Well basicly two reasons.

1. Lack of money. I was just a kid that would spend his money on buying abums and hanging out a bit with other kids. So listening albums, having a drink and a smoke. And thats it, I just couldnt afford to go see all my favorite bands. Which were a lot, because I have always loved music. But BJ was the first band that gave me that special feeling, which is hard to put into words. And that feeling is still there when I hear their songs.

2. My musical taste changed. After NJ I started listening other bands that were a bit more gritty, like Megadeth, GNR, Alice In Chains. I still loved Blaze Of Glory, Stranger In This Town and Keep The Faith when they came out, but after that I started losing interest. I still respected them but some of the energy started lacking in their music.

How about you?

I saw them in Helsinki in 1988 and 1989. They are still the greatest two rock concerts I’ve seen in my entire life. On the second leg they were a bit world weary but I still think the 1989 show was even more magical. No one can ever top that. Bon Jovi at their absolute greatest.

The 1989 show in Rotterdam may have been one of their best concerts ever, as judged by the videos on YouTube. I am so glad for that you got to witness them that day!
