If you want to give hell to someone because of something the fan club has clearly stated it will provide for its members, that's completely up to you.

Like I said in the addition to my previous post, fan club members are not taking away any pit area spots from regular Gold ticket holders. Backstage will receive a specific number of wristbands, a number that has hopefully been counted in to the total capacity of the Gold Circle/Standing area, and once those wristbands run out, that's it for the fan club members. Gold ticket holders will get into the pit anyway, fan club members or not, but there might be a very limited number of wristbands available for fan club members with GA tics too. But even with fan club wristbands, Gold ticket holders will probably take priority over GA ticket holders.

while you've admitted you're only guessing there's one big contradiction in your argument:

you say that they were encouraged to by gold tickets not to make money, but to provide for its members. Yet also acknowledging that they will let some GA people into the pit if they are fanclub members (only that they go in after gold fanclub members) proves that if they adopted your system it would have been entirely about money.

otherwise they'd have just said "fanclub members needn't buy gold tickets"

The fan club is run by Jon's very own mother. Do you really think he would allow her to compromise any kind of health and safety regulations because of the fan club arrangements? Of course not. That's PRECISELY why Backstage encouraged all members to buy Gold tickets...and that's PRECISELY why they've said that there might be a limited number of wristbands available to fan club members with regular GA tickets. If there will still be wristbands left for fan club members after all Gold ticket holder fan club members have got their wristbands, then yes, the remaining wristbands will probably go to fan club members with regular GA tics. But they still wouldn't be taking up anyone's spot in the pit, cause they would've got their wristbands from the fan club's pre-determined allocation.

Ugh, maybe we should just wait until Backstage releases the fan club arrangement info for the UK shows...and continue this argument when we actually know the facts.

okay - but surely you can understand why non-fan club members would be unhappy? For example i was going to join this tour but for the fact that the gold standing tickets were released

i'm not saying get rid of fanclub or gold standing, but they should make their minds up which one it is

Dont forget though Tom, having met Hugh + Obie instantly makes you an UBER BON JOVI FAN! and means you know everything about everything

the type of fan that sits and cries if they dont get to the front, personally I think its very sad, Im happy wherever the **** I am at a concert as long as I can hear it. But some fans would be in a bad mood and not enjoy it if they werent right at the front! (their deserved place since they've met some of the band / crew dont forget!)

Choclady, I understood what letitrock meant. And letitrock, yes, to some extent it would be unfair if fan club members with regular GA tickets got into the pit, since all other people there (myself included) have paid £10 per ticket more for a guaranteed spot in the pit. But on the other hand, like Backstage has sometimes stated -- membership has its benefits. If the fan club will follow the vague note they posted last autumn, members with Gold tickets will (probably!) be given first priority when handing out wristbands, so there would be no discrepancy or unfair treatment there. The only unfair part would be fan club members with regular GA tics getting the left-over wristbands, if there will be any once all Gold ticket holder fan club members have received theirs. But even if that happens, I suppose people just have to live with it. Fan club membership does have its benefits, after all.

And like I said, arguing about this now when everything is still just speculation is kinda pointless.... We should wait until Backstage announces the UK fan club arrangements, and continue this discussion then.
