It was their first time visiting Fargo Dome, but not their first time in ND. They opened for Ratt at the Bismarck Civic Center back during the 7800 F tour. Not that I was there as I didn't even live in ND at the time. I don't think they came through there for Slippery and they only came as close as Minneapolis for Jersey Syndicate.

My first time and first real concert was on the Slippery tour in Denver, CO at the now torn down McNichols Arena (legendary for the fact Def Leppard's Live In the Round video and the American PSSOM and Armageddon It videos were shot there.) Don't have a setlist handy and actually was only prepared to know some of the songs as I didn't have the first album and only just recently at the time had acquired a tape of 7800 F.

The NY clip of Prayer that they gave MTV to use in the Awards that year aired about a month later and I played the shit out of it. Voice aside, it captured everything about the show I saw from the flying truss, Jon running around and thrusting the mic towards the audience, to the pyro going off in the lighting rig at the climax. It took me back to being at the show. When the hell is the entire concert going to turn up??

I remember a few highlights though. Lay Your Hands on Me started the show with a bang. Jon shooting up out of the floor was a thrilling moment. Tokyo Road rocked and I remember a red spotlight shining on Richie. I'd Die for You was a song I'd never paid much attention to before, but it made me cry. The lyrics really got to me. My best friend and I hugged each other and swayed back and forth crying while they sang Blood on Blood. (Oh the drama when you're 14!) I was a little disappointed because they played Living in Sin instead of I'll Be There for You, but it sounded very good. Jon got hit with a glass bottle during Wild in the Streets and he left the stage when that song finished, but he came back out a few minutes later and they finished the show. I believe Wanted was the last song, but I'm not sure.
Setlist 99% accurate:
Lay Your Hands On Me
I'd Die For You
Wild In The Streets
You Give Love A Bad Name
Tokyo Road
Born To Be My Baby
Pink Flamingos + Let It Rock
Living In Sin
Blood On Blood
Livin' On A Prayer
Wanted Dead Or Alive
Bad Medicine

If anything extra was played, it was played before Wanted, it could have been some acoustic song (Ride Cowboy Ride or Love For Sale), there is a chance that Runaway was added between Blood On Blood and Prayer but it was rare at this time. You might have got Shout.

The setlist depends on if you were here for the January 9, 1987 show or one of the June shows. The difference wouldn't be that big though. I'd Die For You instead of Breakout, Never Say Goodbye instead of Silent Night in June. You might have got Travellin' Band and Drift Away from the covers.

Pink Flamingos + Let It Rock
Breakout / I'd Die For You
Tokyo Road
You Give Love A Bad Name
Wild In The Streets
Twist & Shout (acoustic) + Never Say Goodbye / Silent Night
Livin' On A Prayer
Let It Rock
Guitar & Drums solo + In And Out Of Love
Drift Away
Wanted Dead Or Alive
Runaway
Get Ready

Something like that. It is very probably that starting with In And Out Of Love the order was a bit different, with a different cover.

Thanks for the set list. They definitely did NOT do Born to Be My Baby in Jackson though. The first time I heard that song live was the Crush tour.

It was June. I'm sure you meant Pink Flamingos / Raise You Hands as the opener. It was I'd Die For You and Never Say Goodbye. Cinderella came out and joined them at the end so it wasn't Get Ready.

I drove from Atlanta to Newark with a stop in Virginia to show a dog at a VERY muddy dog show. (I actually had 3 dogs along on the trip.) When I got to the Prudential Center and found my section, the usher told me "there's a problem." The first hockey game had been played in the arena the night before, and they had failed to remove the platform for the center ice camera. That platform wiped out 3 rows of seats at the top of one section, including mine. The usher tried to give me a ticket on the other side of the arena, but I wouldn't take it. Yep, you guessed it - it wasn't on Richie's side. I asked her who I needed to talk to next and then headed for Guest Services. To make a long story (about how stubborn I am) short, I finally ended up on the floor . . . in row 11 . . . on Richie's side. The show included the first surprises of the LH tour, and I was hooked. Totally and completely hooked! I was so jazzed up when I got back to my dog-friendly Red Roof Inn in Edison that I didn't get to sleep for hours. I got up the next day and was on the road by 7:00 AM and made it back to Atlanta in 13.5 hours. Adrenaline is an amazing thing. I'd told people that the trip to the concert in Newark was my "mid-life crisis" trip. A little over 3 years later, the count is now 33 band shows and 1 JBJ solo show (with 12 more band shows scheduled for 2011), so I guess the mid-life crisis is still raging!

My first show was February 20th, 2003 in Toronto.

Bounce
You Give Love A Bade Name
Wild in the Streets
LOAP
Everyday
Undivided
Runaway
Just Older
Damned
Wanted Dead or Alive
The Distance
It's My Life
Misunderstood
Joey
I'll Be There For You (Richie on lead vocals)
Hook Me Up
Raise Your Hands
Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
Born To Be My Baby

Encore:
Heroes
Keep The Faith
Bad Medicine
Shout
Rock 'n' Roll Music
Twist & Shout

Even though I'd only been a casual fan for about a year at that time, I'd been on this board and I knew it was highly unlikely that I'd hear anything off These Days. I remember standing there with my mouth open, in complete shock, when I realized they were playing Damned. After that night, I became a hard core fan lol
