He really, really tried to sing that song. I applaud the effort. He sounded decent too.

@ warrior: actually the 2 guys are great- the only thing i didn't like was bobby playing some solos- but it's understandable as richie has his broken arm- i think they are an improvement- the choirs sound MUCH better with them!

Yep, that's it, he goes for it. It might not be perfect but at least he's not shying away from the songs like TD and DC that are vocally demanding.

That was great to watch! While I agree with Ice that it wasn't the best performance of the song, at least they're trying it.

It may not be the best ever performance of the song but I agree with everyone that Jon is going for it and taking chances. In my opinion it was a passionate performance of These Days. I would rather see him giving 100% effort with lots of emotion instead of an identical to the album note perfect rendition. I want to feel it and I want to see Jon feeling the song. And I did after watching this.

Deb ~ I too will cry if they play this at my show!

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Cheers for posting those. I think the first part of These Days sounds almost perfect, could be from any era. Gets a bit uneven trying to hit the high notes but I agree it is probably the best effort since 96. I just watched the songs on the TLFR DVD from Hyde Park. I have to say some of it is almost embarrasing. Crash is so slurred. Raise your Heeeeands is ok though. It also appears they are not just going through the motions this tour. Seems like they care more. Playing DC also shows that. I wonder if this board, and fans posting on other boards about what songs they want have any effect? Probably not.

I don't know---I think it was pretty clear that they "know about this board" from what Obie said at the q and a after the box set came out. He said something about the people at Dry County liking it!? (as a question I believe). Anyway, I think drycounty.com is no secret place. I feel sure the band knows about this place. And let's be honest, they are human, and human nature would make a person curious about what is being said about them, right?

I suspect at least some of the band member have visited and read this site. I could be wrong, but it seems that would be human nature to be curious

I guess it is human nature, and in that case perhaps they also know about youtube. Perhaps sites like that make Jon up his game and get to grips with his voice as he knows people not at the shows can scrutinize live performances now.
