Default Kings of Leon

has anybody seen them live? They supported U2 over here and I am going to see them in a couple of weeks.

The first I heard about them was via an article in the Rolling Stones magazine. Was immediately turned off, cause I just can't stand the engineered looks of designer vintage clothing and wanna-be drugged out rock stars. The fact that they wanted to portray the 'music above all' attitude, but then were wearing a $1,000 Versaci shirt, is a major turn off for me.

Then, I heard some of their music and absolutely love it. Aha Shake Heartbreak is an album that just makes me wanna dance and that hasn't happened in a long time. Had to get Youth & Young Manhood and it too is quite cool.

I like the singers slurred vocals, can't understand a thing he sings, but it sounds cool

So, you hate them? Love them? (don't think there really is an in-between)

I saw them live at Conan O'Brien and I didn't like them. Boring stuff.

some of their music is ok, but live they seem incredibly boring and i know if i met any of the band members i would hate them. even more than Liam gallagher, which says something.

So, why do they photo shoots that cites every single thing they are wearing and how much it was. All of it being designer labels and not even a t-shirt under $500. That is being pretensious and music lovers don't usually care about the name brand they are wearing.... and more importantly, how would you know?

The vintage look has now taken over the NY runways and all designers are catering to the 'new look' -- even though vintage never was about money. It's the grunge thing all over again. They'll always exploit trends and kill them and make them look silly.

The shoot was done to help promote themselves. I dont think many young bands would knock back an appearance in Rolling Stone magazine. Do a little research and you'll find they have been true music lovers from an early age, with some really great southern influences. Just because they are modelling expensive clothes doesnt mean they dont love music. I recall JBJ modelling..

the annoyance is not with them appearing in RS or whatever magazine it was.

That was a Jon thing and he wasn't appearing in magazines with the price tag and clothing store name on the bottom of the page. Though, I've never claimed Jon to be 'all about' music, imo, he too has fallen prey to the biz.

I saw them live last summer, I really enjoyed it.
I didn´t think too much of them before that,
but after I´d seen them live I changed my views.
Like someone already said: they are very energetic on stage and don´t need hundreds of lights and cameras to deliver a good, interesting show.

I've never heard a song by them, but I've heard a lot of reports that they're great live. What is their single? Maybe I've heard them and just don't know it because our local rock station rarely says who sings what.
