Default David Lee Roth To Rejoin Van Halen

Yahoo Music:

A deal is almost set for David Lee Roth to return to the Van Halen fold for a summer tour of amphitheaters, sources told Billboard.com

They said a contract could be signed as early as Wednesday for tour promoter Live Nation to produce a 40-date trek, which would mark Roth's first outing with the rock band in more than 20 years.

Eddie Van Halen and Fender

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hold on to your whammy bars: In one of the most anticipated events in electric guitar history, Eddie Van Halen and the master builders of the Fender Custom Shop in Corona, Calif., have teamed up to introduce EVH® brand guitars, amps and musical products, beginning with a painstaking recreation of one of the most recognized guitars in the world: the red-black-and-white striped "Frankenstein(TM)" guitar played by Eddie throughout his remarkable career.

How many times (I ask you) is this going to go on? Jesus - get over yourself already.

I can only hope that this time they manage to finish the tour. They cancelled on the last tour with Sammy Hagar. I was lucky enough to see them here in Jersey at Continental Arena but I knew a bunch of disappointed people elsewhere who didn't.

The worst part is that they're not gona have Michael Anthony on the tour, but Eddie's son (!) is gonna play bass. That's pathetic.

Yeah it is - I call it exploitation personally. His son played a duet with him at the concert that I saw in 2004. He is an excellent guitarist actually - I think he was about 13 at the time. I just think he needs to live his own life before deciding that that is what he wants to do.

I'm with Yomama on that. I really hope they come around here again. I missed them like 2 years ago and I regret it!

I understand that - some kids would be in heaven. As a parent though - I would hate to have my kid tell me when he (or she) is 30 years old that I ruined their life by making that decision for them.
