Default Def Leppard - Yeah!

For all the Leppard fans on the board, we finally have a title and release date for their covers album:-

05.21.2005 : COVERS ALBUM TITLE
By now, most of you know that the next Def Leppard album will be a collection of cover tunes from (mostly) 70s hits (and if you don't, you might have missed this previous post), and some of you may have read in various interviews that the album is scheduled for release in the fall of this year. While the final tracklisting is still the subject of debate, we are happy to tell you that the band has given us the green light to announce the title of the album. It's short n' sweet, quite to-the-point and "in your face" and it reflects the very essence of rock n' roll. Def Leppard's new album will simply be called..... YEAH!

05.22.2005 : COVERS ALBUM RELEASE DATE
Yet another update on the covers album! At this moment, "YEAH!" has been scheduled to be released worldwide on SEPTEMBER 20. Yes, that's less than four months from now!

05.23.2005 : NORTH AMERICAN DVD RELEASE
North American fans have been wondering if their "ROCK OF AGES" hits collection would be accompanied by a DVD collection -- just like in the rest of the world, when "BEST OF DEF LEPPARD" was released simultanously on CD and DVD last year. We can now confirm that a DVD will be released in North America before the end of the year, featuring all of the band's promo videos, plus a number of extras. Title and exact release date to be determined.

Not so wild about the title , but I'm glad the album's finally confirmed. :P

jesus. christ

what an awful title

and i though crush and bounce were bad... if jovi had come up with this as their new title i think there would have been World War III on this board.

ah well, if waterloo sunset is anything to go buy shoould still be good...

They are touring for a compiliation that is out soon, a two disc set that is basically a re-working of Vault with album tracks. For me the only real value in it is the fact that the tracks are remastered.

I haven't gotten my ticket yet, though I do plan to go. I'm just not very excited with what is going in in the Def Leppard camp lately. X didn't satisfy me with it's overtures to the kiddy crowd by dumbing themselves down. A bunch of Cover songs do not fill the craving either.

The covers album title doesn't help. Def Leppard have always been a rock and roll band with a touch of class and sophistication in the mix. "Yeah" just screams dumb rock. It makes me think they are now trying to sell themselves as they think the public percieves them rather than continuing to define themselves and uphold their work ethic. Thank god it's not a studio album of originals that's getting that title.

I really do wish they were in the studio working on a brand new album of original material rather than touring right now.

I've really lost interest in Def Leppard over recent years. I've kept up to date with all the latest releases, etc. but this is nothing special. A covers album does not excite me.

I'm still quite looking forward to the covers album as hearing Waterloo Sunset and No Matter What left me feeling optimistic. And the album title is pathetic I agree but I suppose at the end of the day, it is only a title.

It's similar to how everyone here on the board butchered Bon Jovi with the box set cover, but the music on there was so good we never even mention the artwork anymore.

I just can't believe it's taken such a rediculously long time to record. It is, lets face it, only a covers album which seems to have been in production for about 18 months. (I'm sure any local band could record a covers album within a day if that!) One merit I can give This Left Feels Right was that it was still a creative movement and that only took 3 weeks! (Despite how most people here despise it :P )

And yes, the time spent on touring probably shoud be used for a brand new studio album, something that is heavier and deeper stronger lyrics similar to Slang.

Well they did a good job of Ray Davies' Waterloo Sunset. I'm not a huge fan of covers CDs because I think they're a bit of a rip off, but I'd like to hear it because sometimes covers give me an insight into new artists that I hadn't recognised before. For example when Bon Jovi played Lola at Manchester I discovered The Kinks.

There show is a greatest hits show. It's almost the first CD of Rock of Ages track by track. When they do Rock of Ages, Joe actually announces it as the title track off their latest album. They played a couple of the cover songs they are putting on the CD and they didn't sound too bad. It was a great concert!! Loved it. I'd go again if they came back to Tampa.
