It it just me who thinks that Def Lep aren't releasing anything else these days than compilations?

BTW, if you are into Def Lep and covers, you should deff check out CYBERNAUTS. http://www.defleppard.com/cybernauts/
They've only release 2 compilations relently, different versions for each side of the Atlantic, so technically it's just one. But I don't see the point to this one really. It's not a poignent moment in their career like when Vault was released on their 15th anniversary, plus it had a brand new song on there and it was to "clear the decks" in time for the experimental Slang album got released the following year.

These compilations mark no peak in their career and there's not even any new original material except for a cover song thats only gona be included on this covers album.

However they said on the Rockline interview that they're currently working on a brand new studio album.

Albums
1995 - The vault
2004 - Best Of
2005 - Rock Of Ages

Video/Dvd
1993 - Visualize
1995 - Video Archieve
2004 - Best Of

No recent Live video/dvd release, only compilations. Vault was somewhat justified release, but I don't really see any point in releasing two new compilations, since there's only been 3 mediocre albums released between them compilations. Cashing in.

appears to be the trend, even with BJ to an extent, that as a band gets older it obviously doesnt produce as much new material but the record company still want products and try to keep the interest in the band so we see compilations, dvds etc etc

Just look at Jovis past releases, out of the last 6 only 2 have been totally newly recorded material!

crossroad
crush
OWN
Bounce
TLFR
Boxset

Some people think whenever we start to see 'best offs' etc from a band that it marks the begining of the end of the band, or least the end of an era.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."
