Extreme to reform for world tour

'More Than Words' stars will also record new album

Extreme are getting back together for a world tour next year, and are recording a brand new album.

The Boston-based metal band responsible for the huge-selling 1991 ballad 'More Than Words' formed in 1985, and the forthcoming album will be the band's first in 13 years.

Guitarist Nuno Bettencourt will produce the disc, and Billboard reports that Satellite Party drummer Kevin Figueiredo will join Bettencourt and original members Gary Cherone and bassist Pat Badger for the venture.

Bettencourt was also a member of Satellite Party, but parted ways with the band in July of this year.

I'll be quite interested in the new album

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Nuno is an amazing guitarist, but he's an absolute tool. I worked with his 2 brothers years ago and even they admitted it.

Did anyone ever watch that show on VH1 a couple of years ago...Bands Reunited (or something like that!) The premise of the show was to get bands back together for a one night performance.

One episode was about getting Extreme back together. Didn't pan out. Nuno wouldn't even allow his face to be seen on camera.

Wonder what changed...attitudes or bank balances?

Nuno is an amazing player, but Extreme were crap.

Get The Funk Out is one of the worst songs i've ever heard.

He should have stuck it out with Satellite Party, Perry Farrell is a genius.

Nothing major. Just admitted to him being conceited. They're from Boston (as am I), and I'm friends with a few people know know them. Before the got big, they'd play at the clubs near Fenway Park. All the guys in the band were cool, but Nuno kind of kept to hmself.
