Default Foo Fighters Sonic Highways (New Album 2014)

Foo Fighters Name New Album 'Sonic Highways,' Reveal Track List
The group's eighth record and one little snippet from a new song
Release November 10th.

The group also premiered a 14-second clip (new song) of Dave Grohl getting a tattoo of the phrase "In the end, we all come from what's come before" with an infinity symbol on his arm.

Grohl's original plan was to record the album in international cities. But once he conceded that that would be "financially impossible," he told Rolling Stone he's happy with how Sonic Highways came out. "We're an American band. We wouldn't be the band we are if it wasn't for the cities here and their music."

Although it proved to be somewhat of a red herring, the number eight has been a recurring theme in the buildup to the announcement. In June, Grohl told Rolling Stone that the album would contain eight tracks, recorded in eight different cities and that its making would be chronicled on an HBO TV series, also titled Sonic Highways, that will last eight episodes; the first episode airs on October 17th.

Here is the track list for Sonic Highways:

1. "Something From Nothing"
2. "The Feast and the Famine"
3. "Congregation"
4. "What Did I Do?/God as My Witness"
5. "Outside"
6. "In the Clear"
7. "Subterranean"
8. "I Am a River"

The Foos have become a bit gimmicky recently. They're still a top live band but most newer albums usually have a short shelf life.

they still haven't made "their" SWW, Appetite or Black album yet. Albums are patchy although I thought Wasting Light was very good

Yeah, I agree. Wasting Light felt like a visceral return to form but lacked some hits. The Colour and the Shape was probably the nearest they got to creating a perfect album. My personal favourite is There's Nothing Left To Lose but that meanders a bit in places. Maybe with the new album being only eight tracks long it'll be all killer no filler.
